Just got out of a meeting with the chief of security over an email I sent.
Let me set the background info for you so you can completely appreciate the story. At my job I run the reports and monitor the Internet activity of several thousand commonwealth of pennsylvania employees. People have lost their job because I made it readily available (upon management request) the detailed Internet traffic report of any employee (such as web sites visited, number of times and duration.) my previous internet abusing hero took it upon himself to browse "scat party" web sites for 3 weeks, everyday for 6 hours a day.
So anyway I have seen some interesting shit to say the least.
Last week I responded to an email that a friend sent me.
The email read: Stakem, I keep getting a virus what protection program would you suggest to keep me protected from getting another virus?
Without hesitation, I responded immediately with "stop looking at porn asshole"
Whoops, porn is an email word filter
that got me a ticket to meet the boss' boss
P.S. If you are reading this Mr. Bill, you and I both know I'm not using commonwealth resources to "screw off" and you should have more important things to do than browse DC.net without creating an account (other than liz)

Boss asked me today what I felt my greatest work-related accomplishment for 2008 was. I told him it's the hundreds of little things that seemingly slip by unnoticed and not appreciated (such as viewing web sites of questionable content and editing the database to show someone else's workstation as the culprit)
