Flying Dog recently released the barrel aged version of the gonzo porter. Pliz let me know if you run into it. It is a 750ml bottle corked and caged. I'm guessing you will have a pretty decent chance at seeing this in any quality beer store.

Anchor Steam is great on tap, had it last night.

2 month premature hops had to be picked today

how much

little less than an ounce wet, wont be much after drying
however that was only 1/5 of the premature hops that are currently on the bines

tomorrow night trying some red ale by the same brewery, might be tastey

also, diso a fresh hopstoopid, or rather a way to tell its fresh so i dont wast more money on this beer being disappointed because its old

It is stocked at a store I stop by at least once a week, their beer specialist is very good with freshness, he will tell me if he isn't sure how fresh something is, and on the higher end beers, he usually has a bottle for himself before selling it. Another local place also carries it and their owner regularly drinks it, so I will check there too.

After typing this I realized that the brewery is on your coast, so why it is hard to find it fresh other than government oppression of beer lovers.

Enjoying Stoudt's Pils right now, it has been a while since I had a German style Pilsener and this one tastes great on its own after work on a hot day.

Very familiar with Stoudts. They are about an hour away. They host a brew fest every 3-4 months for $30. The next one is the weekend of the 28th. I was going to take my brother there for a birthday present.

Today's purchases also included three bottles of Southern Tier Creme Brulee Stout and one of their Mokah Stout.

i was talking about that creme brulee stout with gull before you got on vent. the general idea is that it would go down like candy and get you wasted if given the proper volume.

Are any of you fags (besides Adam) doing anything creative to journal/log your experience with all of the random beers you are trying?

It would seem a waste to me if you didn't (save the bottle, caps, blog, etc.) keep note of what you have/haven't had.

This toilet is clearly a good way to do that.

but i like gin, and i think if you are gonna combine the flavors this works in a pale ale anyway

Ive been spoiled by only been given samples of the "best" they have to offer. I am trying to get my hands on their ice distilled barleywine and berliner weisse which have long since been retired. I had an imperial saison from them that was hands down the best saison I ever had.

Please choose the description which best suits the store where got his bottles from:
1. does clearly move inventory very quick
2. does clearly do first in/first out of their merchandise
3. does clearly give a shit about the freshness of their beer

hopstoopid is only available in a few random supermarkets, the bottle shop does clearly carry it
so it is basically #1

ive also grown extremely selective on ipas. ill buy any of them once, maybe twice. but for those that dont date their bottles you get no more than 2 shots. fuck you.

good, gr8 really, but the heat is really upfront

saw this in stores back in cinci recently but no money to purchase, some might sit around long enough in stores around here to grab some in a month or two

i have some from 07, 08 and 09
the coffee version from 2010 was pretty insane with the bourbon hotness

wonder if nightstalker is any less hot

makes me realize i need to drink these before they go over the hill
