Some random German beer that comes in a 4pk of 16oz cans for $3.99 - "no longer brewed" according to BA and 0 reviews (until mine)
Innis & Gunn Rum Barrel Aged

Dogfish Head Namaste and like a hoser I poured it into a dfh glass

random supermarket that has about 15 different bombers (all local stuff) has goose island demolition
anyway, i like this beer, second time in under a week

dude... other than tsunami stout (which i think i might put in the fridge to drink on thursday night) I dont think i have ever seen you talk about a brew as frequently as this one

i think its the first belgian i can say i really like, which either means its a phase or im opening up to them
sigh, time to go retry every belgian ive already tried

i can honestly say without any reservation that of the belgian beers i have tried that fall into the trappist category and what supposedly are held as the highest standard and best in the world

3. st. bernardus (who comically enough use to contract brew for westy)

trappist rochefort is readily available and for the price I would take that over the price of westy even though real beer nerds would set me on fire for making that statement

I love good beer, but I don't see the point in taking it as far as a lot of people do

i feel dirty knowing the effort im going to spend on saturday to get some once in a year/lifetime beer

im still contemplating how many to buy tbh

when i drink said beer and am floored at its taste, depth, and sheer awesomeness i will feel vindicated

i couple that with how much i love getting the regular brews of all the microbrews. i find so many to be amazing, and then think about the hundreds of places brewing amazing beer i just want to try everything.

And that toilet was started as a rebuttal against a recent occurrence that happed in the trading forum which i wont go into depth about but i will if you really want me to

basically, for as bad as I think I am hooked on craft beer and trying new things, reading about these people and what they do gives me reassurance that every time I seek a beer and crack it open and share it with a friend, it is for the right reason

i just think the toilet highlights something thats easy to happen, and this weekend shows it perfect. brewers know that limited release hype is all thats needed. why would hotd choose this weekend for matt, the same one as mom, dissident etc.

and im really considering only getting like 6 moms, i mean i dont trade, you will have yours, how many do i actually need? idk man, how much is too much..

This statement perfectly sums up what I was thinking last night.

I can easily try new things 3+ times per week just by checking a few different stores and having an extended group of 6-8 people who I see once a month who are in different areas and check different stores. I'm clearly drinking limited releases every day, but a lot of the "special" beers (more expensive bombers, usually limited run or single batch) are disappointing or simply overdone, and a lot of the less expensive and more readily available beers are much more drinkable. That being said, my regular beers that I can get fresh are Gandhi-bot, Loose Cannon, Dead Guy, Dale's Pale Ale (though it has been hard to get lately), and I see a regular rotation of Southern Tier, Lagunitas, NEBCO, and others. A lot of the limited release stuff tends to clearly be very drinkable, imbalanced, and even more disappointing considering that it is high-priced and something that I simply don't enjoy drinking.

It also disappoints me that a lot of limited release beers basically taste like what I expect test batches of production beers. I have a case of Stone RIS and a few bombers of Southern Tier Blackwater series (heavy stouts) aging, as well as DFH 120 minute and WWS. These beers are more expensive, but they taste great and they are highly drinkable, plus they age well and simply get better.

I also hate oak-aged beers in general just because 90% of them have no business being oaked, but a handful turn out really well.

$100 says I can convert you into loving oak aged beers or at the very least share with you some oak aged beers that will alter your perception

i enjoy the experimentation that is the basis for most of these short-run beers, i dont like how i have to pay 10+ a bomber and potentially go wait in line to get something that may or may clearly even be good.

think i just need to start homebrewing

wait, the number is the month, and 3 months later they accept returns. so yours was from december.

i just looked at one i had this week and its dated 8, so its at its 3 month mark.

i was just being clever, ive seen people edit their reviews to include multiple years/tastings etc

the alcohol was still pretty evident in it, it could have sat even longer im sure

I think this is the first bottle conditioned export stout i have had. I am on my second glass and there is less than an inch left in the bottle, i am gonna swirl it up and chew the last half glass full

which is hilarious that you bring that up because I am going to do that tonight with a bottle of old dominion oak aged barleywine

yesterday was the 4 year mark from when it was bottled. my review is from last year so I am going to edit and include a new review that shows if anything has changed over the last year

nice, i cant wait 3 more years to try a 4 year old beer side by side new ones.
