You cant wipe off the top of a fucking can?
It is simple to label the can as conditioned or force
-if clearly just treat as if it is and no big deal, who doesnt like glassware anyhow
dating is a general issue and you have no basis for saying a higher percentage of cans are undated

well there is less mass in a can vs a glass bottle so less shit to cool down= the beer itself losing more heat
if the distributor cannot pay attention and keep their product from being scrapped that is there own fault. even more so if they are letting cans freeze they are probably also letting bottles freeze with such negligence.

basically you have a very weak argument that outlines problems that can be associated with both containers sans the freezing (but I am willing to bet that is tiny and I could calculate that if you really were doubting me)

also, this might be false but it seems that canned brews freeze quicker or more often than bottles when they are shipped across the country this time of the year

but that might be because of the general assumption that most canned brews are lower abv


i would say a bottle has more surface area so it would actually freeze faster, if all other things were equal.

i like the concept of the can but at the same time there is no replacement to the glass bottle imo.

but i will concede that the pliny just tasted old already, where the two-hearted did clearly

joe did you note the two different batch numbers of two hearted?

One was prolly 6+ months old while the other was the 1-2 month old one

2 hearted is a very solid brew with a very reasonable price
i dont think anyone who frequents this toilet is going to argue with that

pliny is about the best dipa in the world but it dramatically drops off and it does so way too fast... for the trouble to secure a bottle and the price it costs i would rather spend my money on a growler of something local and super fresh

however, ill report back in and see if drinking the bottle changes my mind
it has been about a month since i had it last (on tap)

if i ever had a "fresh" one to compare to id be stoked. but alas, that would involve driving to portland on some random thursday when belmont taps a keg.

but i still think the one i had at 6 weeks was clearly only a let down but completely unspectacular.

Opened a growler of bullfrog nightowl winter saison...it's nothing like a saison

At 11.5% I called it quits after 3 glasses. Will resume the growler consumption this evening after I get out of the hospital
