id get something like a variety and see what you like from that

breckenridge (these are extra flavored with extracts and sugars to exaggerate their flavor)
dundee (meh, i would avoid but its a fair variety and cheap.. ie: should be less than $25 for a case)
erie
flying fish
flying dog
lancaster (these are blah, i would skip)
middle ages
river horse
rock art
smutty nose
southern tier
tommy knocker (same comment as breckenridge)
troegs (clearly to be biased but this one is pretty solid, gives a wide array of styles)
victory (a bit pricy for what you get if i remember correctly)
weyerbacher (i would avoid this until you are ready to get your ass handed to you)
yards (pretty mild, easy drinking assortment that isnt very exciting)

Ok Task, I have no idea if you like hoppy beers or wheat beers, but go buy a full case and hate all 24 bottles in it

My reccomendation of purchasing a variety case remains unchanged if he is going to a "normal PA distributor" where a purchase = an entire case

If you have clearly shipped yet, don't. I have a 12 bottle styrofoam bottle shipper that I'm going to fill and send to you tomorrow morning. I figure we can use it to ship stuff back and forth instead of dirty socks and used bathroom towels.

Working my way through the Sam Adams variety pack (24 beers for $26) - this years Summer Ale has a bit more lemon, I like it and it seems a bit lighter than previous years.
