the stone ris belgo anise is fucking odd, im clearly sure what to make of it

drinking the other half of the bottle of darklord that was opened the other night and clearly finished

i actually like it more tonight than the day it was opened... weird

ive been avoiding Stone like the clap ever since they announced this was going into their rotation. when i first tried their belgo ris and belgo old guardian i wanted to puke. then they threw it into the rotation for every odd year removing the original version? fuck that

i was on a streak buying a couple bottles of both to stack a huge vertical to drink sometime with m8's. looks like I am pulling the plug on it and keeping it from '04-'10.. no more

that ris was really clearly good at all. clearly horrible, but just odd. like someone dropped a pickle in my beer.

i picked up their ipa Cali-Belgique, more out of curiosity than anything.

so i got 4 black buttes for you chaps. who wants? im p sure i can still get some tomorrow if anyone wants. it seemingly just hit salem today. yay 2 weeks to get beer fro 60 minutes away.

don't pick up anymore unless you want, imma try to purchase some when at bend too

ill take all 4 if noone else wants any
but will obviously share with whomever as long as I can get in on a taste of 1

Homebrew has the buttery taste of diacetyl, but it has already been bottled. Will an extra week or two in bottles allow the yeast to clean this up, or am I fucked once the beer is out of the secondary fermenter?

ofc ill take some kbs. how many you gots?

give me some details about the brew
what style? what was original gravity? what was final gravity?
What temperature was it fermented at, what temperature is it bottle conditioning at?

like 12? this is a rough guess without actually looking
and it is a mix of last years and this years

Clone of magic hat #9 with extra hops. Primary and secondary at 68 or so, bottles at 70 ish, maybe a bit warmer. ringwood ale yeast from wyeast. clearly sure on the gravity when I get home, currently at home depot.

this is a solid ipa, will becoming better friends with this one

im clearly really all that familiar with the ringwood yeast as it is pretty much just a catch all generic strain but .011 fg seems high even for a clone of #9. i sadly dont think any amount of bottle condition or aging is going to remove diacetyl... unfortunately that is a common problem with lagers clearly ales
