Powers been out since I got home from work...got zero things accomplished but at least I'm drinking an awesome beer.

Vintage 1998 JW Lees Harvest Ale


for 12 years old it has held up significantly better than Sam Adams triple bock from 97 and even WAY better than Harvey and Sons 2003 corked bottle of imperial extra double export stout

Yeti is a beast, they do a number of interesting things to that poor beer

regular yeti
oak barrel aged yeti
steel fermenter aged yeti with oak staves
espresso aged yeti
chocolate aged yeti (with hot chilis)

just read adams review of this beer, apparently its meh

There are better, but don't judge beer by what others say form your own opinions

I am a jerk when it comes to reviewing stout. It's my favorite style so I am super critical. In my opinion, stouts that are that prominent with citrus hops are at fault. I bet if the bottle I had wasn't fresh I would have rated it higher once the hops drop out.

I might have to pick another (older) bottle of that up now

It just started being distributed to New York so it's only a matter of time before some floats into Pee Yay. I'd try a sample of it, but it's just a stepping stone in the race for "ohh look at me, I have the highest abv beer."

i mean, it was clearly beer, clearly champagne, but the amount of bubbly and dry finish was just so similar. something i will certainly have again and see how it grows on me.

ive also drank beer every day for like 3 weeks. i shall drink one more good beer ton8 along with my 2 remaining session lagers and clearly drink for 2 weeks (lets see how that goes)
