that is just absurd

I look at it this way. The cost of a trip around the world to the different beer destinations that I want to see would be several thousands of dollars. And honestly, the only thing I would do other than site see, would be drink the local beer that isnt available in the USA.

So, like it or clearly, this is my justification for spending the amount of money I do on trading beer. A bit excessive? Yup you better believe it. But in all honestly, I make a solid living where I have expendable money and it is the only hobby I really have.

If I want to be a dick about it, I could admit that I have several beers in my possession that would fetch hundreds of dollars if I ever wanted to get rid of them... and in all honesty its something I have been thinking a lot about doing.

No joke, a lot of the stuff I have I will probably never drink because I have associated a $ value to it and i cannot imagine ever bringing myself to drink a beer that I paid $15 for that I could resell for $150 or more.

who was being a dick?

I consider having a collection of similar magnitude of anything to be absurd

I mean I plan on having tons and tons of mead laying around my place and that will be a large chunk of change invested but its the only way I can get the things I desire to try, if I make them. Also having around 10+ years old bottles of mead just sounds fantastic.

I'm pretty sure I fucked my liver.

I've had this sharp pain in my general liver area ever since opening that 16% beer at 8:30 in the morning with a hangover.

I dont know what to say. I type my reviews up on my phone so a slip of the fat finger happens all the time.

However, if you want to be nit-picky look at the paragraph where I am describing the aroma. I use "licorice" as it was intended which is quite a tongue twister since I am referring to anise and chocolate being a combination of chocolate and black licorice liquor.

In reading the taste description where i drop the word "liquorish" I cant tell if I am talking about black chocolate "liquor-ish" alcohol quality or black "licorice" aka anise. I guess I wont know that until I look at my notes again tomorrow while at work.

I can throw you together a variety of founders stuff?
KBS x6
Red's rye
Centennial IPA
Porter
Dirty Bastard

Troegs just released a new "imperial" pale ale called perpetual ipa. It is nothing shy of an india pale ale, just them trying to be different and calling this a big pale ale. Nugget nectar doesnt come out until January-ish. I have off work today, I can box you something up and ship it first thing tomorrow. Only problem being it wont include perpetual since I dont have any of that at the moment but I can buy some for the next box?

i find it to be enjoyable if the following criteria are met:
you get to see the look of disgust on the other person's face who is drinking it
you are already drunk
it is drank as close to freezing cold as possible

dan

i find it to be enjoyable if the following criteria are met:
you get to see the look of disgust on the other person's face who is drinking it
you are already drunk
it is drank as close to freezing cold as possible

i have one in the fridge still
i cant tell if i want to open it in about 12 years or watch a friend drink it thinking i gave them something clearly atrocious

Saturday is going to be an amazing day of pre-hurricane brewing.

Gonna shoot for 20 gallons total
10 gallons Berliner weisse (5 gallons fermented with Brett, 5 gallons with German ale yeast)
10 gallons Saison (5 gallons fermeted with a new American saison yeast strain, 5 gallons with dregs from a bottle of Fantome Saison)

Brewed the 10 gallons of Saison on Saturday. Didn't get around to the Berliner, figure I'll brew that on Friday.

Also, hoping to pick up the last bottle to fill the box for Joe tomorrow and shipping that Wednesday hopefully.
