most of what you taste is a derivative of smell

The most profound experience I have had with smell and taste was when we sampled Sam Adam's Utopias at my house. Something as simple as different glassware completely changed the way it smelled and subsequently tasted (wide mouthed glass verse narrow.)

Sam Adams Octoberfest has quite an impressive malt flavor this year. Loses a lot of it when its too cold, but starting around 55-60 and letting it warm up a bit is exceptional. The barley has a lot of character, it almost reminds me of the malt of some trappist beers when it's at room temperature (though room temperature yesterday was probably 80).

At $26/24 I'll be drinking quite a bit of this.

Amazing... 8% abv drinks like it is 4%
The most fruity smelling/tasting hoppy beer I have had in awhile... this might even surpass the Citra that I drank recently.
