will do but while im thinking of it im gonna talk more about this one
initially it was quite pleasant with it's unexpected hop character.. however now that it is warming up it is getting ugly. it has like a stinky grain, cheese and sulfur aspect coming out of it now which is finally starting to show the adjunct lager aspect of this brew.

in a way I never really know what to expect when a brewer tries to recreate a historic type of brew. also, i cant be a jerk and clearly appreciate a beer that was given to me for free but i dont know how to to say this is kinda bad now without sounding like a dick...

#1 Samuel Smith Imperial Stout - really solid English style stout
#2 DFH 120 Minute IPA - third one in the past month or so, and I have another. Sweet. It tastes really sweet.

was thinking either doggie claws or cherry adam. both of which came from you and are sitting in the fridge. however, I might put that off till tomorrow and use my hotd tulip glass that Dan doesn't know about because he would want it and my wife would give it to him when im clearly looking

snagged a fresh one, p good.  i love when the citrus profiles have clearly fallen off and you are only left with the flavorless bitter.

aka fresh ipa

in hindsight, this was certainly sweet as hell. but it had a fresh hop balance that worked for me. to compare, ive had left coast hop juice which i would say was equally as sweet but i didnt get it as fresh as was just a sweet mess that had lost the real hop flavor. in short, i can see people being disappointing with this beer, as i was with hop juice, if it was clearly totally fresh.

No idea. Evidently some people have an idea of what a beer is suppose to be like before they even open it. If it doesn't 100% live up to what they think it should be then it is trash.

so recently ive learned no brewer makes good beer, and whenever people like something enough to create hype that beer actually sucks

Dan, Troegs is closing the doors on their Harrisburg location for good on Friday. Monday they open in the new Hershey location.

To say gn8 to the Harrisburg location on Friday they are releasing a wet hop scratch beer at 10 am. If this beer is anything like the last years wet hop ale I'm buying at least a case.

The Irishman is going to secure at least a case. He is going there when they open. I'm going to have him send me status updates of how quick it is selling and either go down at noon or before if it's gonna sell out in an hour like last time.

shangys is the beer mecca of our state. they are a wholesaler. all of the beer distributors in the harrisburg area buy their beer through shangys (by law) for resale. if you go directly to shangys you will cut out the middle man and pay the same price they do. i make a trip there about once every other month or so and i buy 5 or more cases at a time to make the cost of gas worthwhile

Your state is terrible. Anywhere online that shows the selection you have and a price list?

donno, im sure theres some beer store in allentown i dont know about

shangy's warehouse is kinda close to where i work but in the other direction, probably would be the best bet

i dont think they have a website or i cant find it

this place will seriously dominate you if your clearly ready for it. it is unlike any other beer store i have ever been to. their selection is unmatched and prices are unheard of

their website has been "in the works" for the past 3 years

they poop a daily special or featured brew on facespace which is about the closest thing you will currently find to a website since it lists their hours, phone number, address, etc.

Sounds like a place I would like if I lived in PA. BJs liquor store sells Sam Adams 50 cents above wholesale price, but they don't carry any other real beer.

joe, dont waste your time or money on the 1811

if i could go back and do it again i would have enjoyed it significantly more if it was as cold as the rockies and I couldn't smell or taste a thing

so far fort george is a letdown?

all fucking bitterness, no balance at all
it is almost vegetative more than it is pine. the only malt i pick up on its this weird toasted quality that only makes it seem more bitter.

if this was a beer i purchased myself i would have ranked it a "C" however, considering the freebie it was and clearly wanting to hurt feelings, I gave it an exaggerated B

yeah, i dont know what to think about this one. regardless of its freshness, i still dont see how the bitterness of it would have been balanced at all
i dont understand cryptic etch a sketch style julian dating for bottled on/canned dates or best bys either so that doesnt add any value to my understanding
