i may be overstating fred, its still beer, but the flatness is certainly something you notice, and have to accept

i should add that it works though, the bourbon is certainly #1 in this beer, any wood is currently pretty faint, even the "fred" aspects are faint. im guessing the lack of carb really allows the bourbon to shine. time will probably be really kind to this beer.

i can see how people were talking about a wine quality to this, though im clearly entirely sure exactly where its from. its like the chocolate and the oak combined with the bourbon and made a grapelike flavor. its actually pretty good.

must be 06, their site stops in 03 with batch 59
http://www.hairofthedog.com/adam_vintages.html

the two ive had, 09/10, were harsh smoke bombs
i was blown away by what the aging did to this beer, you may be less blown away since your beer was already muted

ofc i have never seen such variation in beer as i do in hotd, dont think any real conclusions can be drawn

Hair of the Dog- Adam: "12oz bottle batch 62. As far as I am aware, this vintage was brewed in the spring of 2004 and bottled the summer 2004."
I'll give a shiny nickel to whomever can tell me where that info came from.

I really don't understand north coasts reasoning behind their price points. Its almost like they dont care if their product moves fast because they know with age it only gets better. Rasputin, old stock, praqster all of them are readily available across the coutry and solid offerings. But they average like $55+ a case. These barrel aged beers are uber expensive like $30+ for a freaking 500ml bottle that is designed to make you think it's more like a 750ml.

I showed up like 20mins after the event started, parked right across the street and walked up to meet adam and bryan by the front door cutting the entire line that wrapped around the building.

Then right I would say around 20-30people after us it sold out?

Keep in mind that half an hour before Dan showed up, the guys behind me were asking my opinion about line cutters. I told them we had someone coming who would be arriving once we were inside and they laughed thinking I was joking. The look on their face when Dan joined us was priceless.

"Dan, no tasting glass?" Fine, drink directly from this growler.

"Don't judge me." *While he picks up a random bottle of beer sitting beside us and drinks from the bottle.*

Other highlights of the evening:
I told Josh (another fellow we were in line with) that we were going to be met by Dan. And if he didn't know who Dan was, he would recognize him by the racist comments. Within the hour, Dan delivered as expected and Josh spit up beer laughing.

clearly a bomber, a fucking 64oz growler! LOL
The best fucking part was him sticking his nose in it to smell it before chugging. It brought a fucking tear to my eye. Lol. The bottle he took was a 12oz.

"yup, no blacks here."

Dan is my hero. When I met him at NEBCO they were out of growler caps, and I even tried to convince them to give me an open growler to drink on the way home since I wasn't driving.
