LOL

That is going to be a shitshow on a level clearly yet seen for any public event in the history of beer. If anyone was ever murdered over beer, this would be the time and place. I am seriously considering flying out to see the pandemonium first hand. "Chance tickets" will be sold for hundreds of dollars. Then, once you get a winning ticket, you will have to pay 2 grand for the bottle. Anyone want to take me up on that bet?

how would you even go about selling, say, 1k scratchoffs when at least 10 times that will be crashing the amazingly tech savy hotd website? it only took them 13 years to clearly look like it was 1997, they upgraded to a sleek 2004 design. im sure this will be a flawless event.

so basically, come to the brewery, wait in line, have a lotto to see who gets to come to the dinner where we raffle off the right to buy a scratch off.
flawless victory

ive had one good and one horrible -bal dog father. dogzilla (cipa or w/e) was indeed ok, nothing great. ive had their cream ale, and while most cream ales are like drinking candy beer i though it was good. ive also had alphadog before, i remember it being clearly too bad and wanted to try it again.

i also have to continually fill my growler to recoup the cost of the growler!

I decided to crack open a bottle that made it home safe with me from my trip to Florida

Cigar City - Homefront IPA: An ipa brewed with spices and aged on maple baseball bats. It tastes like lenny dykstra's taint. Why would they think this was a good idea?

Same shit as last year, only earlier...wonderful.

I tip my hat to Selinsgrove brewery for clearly only making the best pumpkin ale ive ever had but for also refusing to release it until Halloween

My only complaint about this is that it forces you to drink it there. Which also means I cant take growlers home to enjoy on Thanksgiving. Its probably for the best that way, it makes it last longer.

My outer banks vacation comes to a close. 215 miles till home. I am officially sick of traveling for the year. The flight to florida 2 weeks ago had me spoiled. This 8 hours of driving is painful with a 1 year old.

Anyway. Beer highlights of the outer banks consisted of Outer Banks Brewing Station Barrel Aged Sour Ale, IPA and porter. I sampled all of their other offerings but those 3 are worth talking about.

@Dan
Meetup at Als Sunday for the DuClaw party? Meet at my house at 10:30?

My outer banks vacation comes to a close. 215 miles till home. I am officially sick of traveling for the year. The flight to florida 2 weeks ago had me spoiled. This 8 hours of driving is painful with a 1 year old.

Anyway. Beer highlights of the outer banks consisted of Outer Banks Brewing Station Barrel Aged Sour Ale, IPA and porter. I sampled all of their other offerings but those 3 are worth talking about.

@Dan
Meetup at Als Sunday for the DuClaw party? Meet at my house at 10:30?

Depends if I meet the dr after going to beer stop tomorrow, also we need to discuss my driving back from CO and stops and etc if you are interested in anything

So let me see if I got this right.
Guy who owns beer shop gets in fresh (somewhat limited) hoppy beers in January/February.
Said guy holds on to them for 6 months in order to hold an anniversary party of "stupid" proportions by unveiling a new draft option at his store and starts pouring 6 month old hoppy beers.

Dan actually just 100% verified my poop.. lol
got a text from him saying the hopslam was from January
Considering Nugget Nectar is a seasonal that is now out of season can only mean that at best it is from March but more realistically probably December-February.

Prices up, bottle formats made ever smaller. And to add insult to injury the quality of the brews is getting worse. Half way through my pour, pieces of gelatin plopped/splashed into my glass. So of the whole what??? 8oz that the size of this nip bottle was, 2oz of it was fucking gelatin? Wonderful.

beer geek breakfast is indeed good. beer geek brunch is even better (and that is what irritates me the most is that because i like these brews, i am anxious to give his new shit a try.)

but what a dick move to decided to age these in different types of barrels, place them in nip sized bottles and then charge even more than the base version in a larger format bottle...

and as a side note, yes the black hole brews are fucking bad

the "black" beers though are tolerable but at retarded prices. I think the only reason the black beers are more tolerable than the holes are because the alcohol is jacked up even higher and it completely numbs your face after the first sip

it was the worst non-infected beer ive ever tasted. the fact they even sold that beer is one of the reason i basically never give them my money. no one at the brewery could have thought this beer was acceptable.

Hopslam bottles could legitly of JUST come in from shangys since he was bitching about it. Nugget I think he bought to have when taps came out, but like yeah...the taps just got put in and sitting on it for 6 months....nope

Shangy's is notorious for being turds and only putting a case or 2 on the floor to appear that you are the lucky person who purchased their "only case." I dont think he pulls that same shit when it comes to providing stock for other retailers.
