ohh, i know its so they make sure they sell their allotment. i could only justify it if the assumption is that only your local and biggest fans will sit in line for hours in the hopes that you reward your old standbyes first, but i when i pull up and see california and idaho plates everywhere its obviously clearly what happened.
im in no position to make wild assumtions and claims about a brewery ive never been to but...
they hold cases back for on-site consumption months/years after the initial releases and upcharge 4x the original prices. i would clearly be surprised if they have groups of locals who get a case the day before or days after just based on their long standing relationship with the brewery.
i could be full of shit but its what i would do to reward those who have been there regardless of popularity/growth
