hotd nov 10:
The beer lineup was just broadcast by Alan:
"Very happy to announce the release of three Beers during our 19th anniversary weekend. Doggie Claws, Cherry Adam and Michael will be available on November 10th at 10am. There will be a 1 case limit on Cherry Adam and Michael, no limit on Claws. The line forms early, my guess is that people here before 7am should have no problem getting Beer."

i thought i already pooped this

it was only speculation at that point (albeit solid speculation), hadnt been confirmed by alan until this past tuesday
my apologies

cherry adam makes me rub my nipples
michael makes me feel funny in my loins

i wonder how many people are going to rage on november 10th because they go home empty handed after watching 50+ people before them get cases

they only have a brewery license? case min?
they are also in the business of selling, create the limited hype train and let customers ride it all the way home

ohh, i know its so they make sure they sell their allotment. i could only justify it if the assumption is that only your local and biggest fans will sit in line for hours in the hopes that you reward your old standbyes first, but i when i pull up and see california and idaho plates everywhere its obviously clearly what happened.

im in no position to make wild assumtions and claims about a brewery ive never been to but...

they hold cases back for on-site consumption months/years after the initial releases and upcharge 4x the original prices. i would clearly be surprised if they have groups of locals who get a case the day before or days after just based on their long standing relationship with the brewery.

i could be full of shit but its what i would do to reward those who have been there regardless of popularity/growth

i am under the impression if alan does give people their personal cases before or after they are extremely tightlipped as its never even once been hinted at. it just seems alan knows he makes good and unique beer and can do whatever the fuck he wants. i think for him its more important to keep his bar busy and the dock sales are just a way to pay off the cost of brewing said batch.

When I was in CT, and near Nebco, I know its clearly the same comparison but I would get cases and shit before it was released and only really would tell adam

also, apple brandy ris
this is tasty, little boozy ofc. clearly that its distracting only that this is a serious beer. the apple is subtle, the brandy is on top of the flavor so far. just cracked it so will report back as it warms.

how was the level of carbonation? it seems as though half of the bottles are carbonated perfectly and the other half are low

mine was p low. there is a slight ring around the outside. upon swirling it there is a paper thin layer. its clearly hotd flat, but its clearly what you were proal shooting for. but then again whats the abv? for something seemingly this big clearly having a ton of head is clearly unusual imo. and it does clearly feel overly flat in the mouthfeel, which i assume is due to just how big of a beer this started out as?

does that mean you unpacked the box you were previously going to send and now know what the contents are?

so the more i think about it i dont know what to say im shipping. collectibles sounds made up. and since im shipping identical boxes to 2 different people things like "birthday present" seems odd. maybe ill just say early xmas gifts. but if they ask what out of small talk its just fucked up to clearly be more specific to a random person.

Lagunitas DayTime "fractional" ipa - avoid this
Its a nice session beer but clearly worth the asking price. Its clearly an ipa at all. Hell, its hardly even a watered down pale ale.

im less and less impressed with lagunitas seasonals. same hop profile for everything. their ris and hop stoopid are about the only beers of theirs i car to buy. and their ris is pretty bland on the ris scale imo. and hop stoopid is rarely fresh it seems.

this beer seems like a brewing mistake that they are clearly only trying to patch up but make a profit on

more spicy than i would have liked. the ancho + cinnamon combo really made for a spicy finish that lasted with warmth in the mouth. more of the cacao and vanilla would have been welcomed

cigar city in tampa florida makes a similar brew called hunahpu that is down right amazing. they use vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and 3 types of peppers (ancho and pasille are 2/3) the spice in thst beer blends perfectly with the warmth of the alcohol.

its the whole mole theme they go for

chili powder added to beer, clearly a blended flavor at all. maybe the chili has fallen off a bit as recent reviews are far better than id ever give this shit.

package is at local depot and will be delivered tomorrow
its a 50/50 shot as to whether its delivered at 9:30 or 2:30
regardless it has a smile on my face solidifying my comment about boxes getting across country in 5 days
