i just finished my review and here is my tl;dr version:
it screams dissident's tartness and fruity quality of cherry and vinegar
it also is ravaged by this awkward spicy incense-like barrel flavor i wasnt thrilled about in stoic
adam and fred are MIA only contributing to a huge alcohol presence

super appreciative of the opportunity to try it but im clearly in a hurry to have it again

Samed.

Just noticed what you did there, hadn't logged in a few.

Next three reviews will be old rasputin, SA Winter Lager, and because my wife thought it'd be cool to buy, Lennys vanilla porter.

Also your reviews shame me into never wanting to do another one. Yes I'm a virgin to this, but yours read like poetry, while mine read like the fun facts you get on the back of a kids cereal box.

Dont let my long-winded, redudant rants and all out geek douchery deter you. In the beginning I used only a word or 2 to describe aroma and taste. At this point, drinking/reviewing is almost like a job. Seriously, it takes work and time to be thorough and takes a lot of the fun out of just enjoying a beer. I often concentrate way too much on what I dont like about a beer instead of what i like. I try desperately to simplify my reviews but it gets longer than necessary a lot.

I tried to quit reviewing a couple times but out of the blue i get messages from people thanking me for my opinions and how my reviews helped them with purchases. Ive also been contacted by owners of breweries and brewers themselves. They often are thankful for an unadultrated opinion whether positive or negative. Ive met a lot of awesome people because of that site and have been given more free beer than I can remember. During Philly beer week this year a brewer from Florida introduced himself to me. When I told him my name, he knew immediately who i was and bought me a beer. Its the stupid stuff like that which keeps me motivated i guess.

That, and you forgot to mention by reviewing beers and shit like that you are making sure nobody who ever meets you and bryan would ever associate bryan with you based upon your beer reviews and knowledge.

I think I snookered myself the other night. Was fiddling around in Kroger and came across a Luna Kombucha Cranberry. Was supposed to be some sort of tea/cranberry beer. (Figured it would be something the wife might like?) Can't seem to even find it online, I'll have to double check later, maybe just too new. But right now I feel like I just got raped and it was totally fake. Also usually a bomber of something at least has some sort of relaxing effect, at the least, this had nothing. Course it was also nursed due to clearly being anything I'd normally drink.

dude... kombucha is fermented tea

you probably wont find it online anywhere as it was removed from "normal" store shelves quite a long time ago since it contains "trace" alcohol via an regulated status usually less than 2-3% abv.

kombucha is fucking awesome if you enjoy sour/tart beer. it is the closest thing in the world you will ever find to my favorite style of beer: berliner weisse

some kombucha tastes mildly like sour lemony tea. some tastes like intensified yogurt. others still (usually the older ones) taste a bit like vinegar mixed with either/or the previously 2 described

Ah congrats to Ohio being behind the game. I had honestly never seen it before and thought it would be something new to try.
Also if you want to check out my lenny's review it's up. clearly sure if I'm even doing a SA Winter Ale review right now because I was so disappointed by this sixer I feel I have to give it a second run.

Are these ones you aren't supposed to cellar and just kinda lost? OR were the cellar limits far less?

there are certain styles of beer that lend themselves to aging MUCH better than others. usually when a brewery states that you should drink a certain offering "before" a date, i try my best to do that. in this case, I was given a gift pack that included 4 different beers and the matching glass. none of them immediately struck my interest so i tucked them away and got distracted/forgot about them. fortunately, the styles of each are conducive to being aged and from my experience they did clearly deteriorate from being "over aged."

please understand that this isnt always the case. i have aged some beer that i knew to be decent to be aged and after only a year the beer went to shit. having said that, anything that has coffee added to it or is hoppy goes directly in the fridge for immediate consumption.

if you go on saturday to hotd...

while standing in line, mumble to yourself or someone close to you that Dave is over-rated and anyone who pays over 1400 for a bottle is fucking retarded since you have a pair of bottles still at your place and only had to pay $80 last time they were sold.

with 100% certainty i can state that you will either be murdered where you stand or people will bring their wives/girlfriends over to blow you while you wait in line

prove me wrong?

yes, that was how it was through my Junior year but they seemed to have straightened things out when they did the remodel and expansion.

I need to be making a trip back soon now that they are putting out awesome stuff
