The goose island christmas ale is something to pass on. Anchor really puts it to shame. The goose island christmas tastes like a standard amber/brown ale with some orange extract/zest added to it. Without the label, you would never guess it to be a holiday offering.

Drinking a pint coors light with the old man. He don't have any of my "fancy" beers, but this is super cold.
Happy though, only like my second beer ever with him.

pretty decent sort of saison/ipa hybrids. clearly anything to get your shit up in the air over but decent. people need to stop hyping this brewery up. their shit is ok, clearly earth shattering

i have enjoyed several of their takes on pumpkin ales and a few if their ipas were ok

i need to drink one of these again soon. was pretty crazy in lobb with it last time

i still need to try one of their seemingly infinite pumpkin beers, but i will say i think dragonstooth is the one i think they really nail

ill need to remember to pick one up next time i see it

"the great pumpkin" was the #1 rated pumpkin ale on BA for awhile. Its pretty solid. As far as what goes into bottles/distribution they make a non-imperial version as well as a porter pumpkin. They take pumpkin beer pretty seriously. They make more one-off pumpkin beers than any other brewery i know of and have a festival each year featuring like 50+ different ones on tap.

there are far more practical setups for distilling that don't cost $400 and dont have a significant chance of exploding on you

my friend hosted a sour beer tasting yesterday. in 8 hours we drank about 30 different things. he had a hell of a spread of belgian influenced food. 8 different cheeses, 5 kinds of charcuterie and all that good shit.

I got to try Iberico Fresco for the first (and probably last) time and it was fucking mind blowing. It is essentially the Kobe of pork products. I never thought id say this but it puts bacon to shame. And rightfully so I guess considering its $300 a pound.

our weather is fine in the 30's and going up to 50's by the weekend. i havent looked at what the midwest is like but it shouldnt matter unless there are some low abv brews

do you have another shipper or were you gonna use nornal packing? also, what is the game plan for this box? bottle for bottle or did you want some money?

Old Stock Ale 2011 NC brewing...

I can't even put into words how fucking awesome this thing is. Got a 4 pack so doing one or two tonight, will review the third, and age the 4th.

I have no clue what I'm doing with aging yet though, I have dresser in my basement, maybe I can stick a bottle in there.

i still have a bottle of the bourbon barrel aged version waiting to open with you. i think i also have a bottle of regular old stock from the original bottling...03 or 04? christ...now i gotta go look cuz it will bother me

i stand corrected...the bottle i have is from 2000.

but yeah, old stock is THE primo example of old ale in my opinion. it was my inspiration for brewing my apple brandy version

Hmm, course they are made to age so maybe drinking such a recent vintage will give have that.

Following it up with Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' ale.

Different, fruity, smells of pears and the hops. The taste itself, after the Old Stock, almost seems bland.

did we ever open one of mine while you guys were here? of the 4 cases i had, im down to maybe 8 bottles left. people have been pesting me for more, it might be time to brew it again
