The Trappist rochefort strain of yeast is commercially available as well as the ingrediants they use. If you really enjoy a particular beer why wouldn't you want to try and replicate it? Of course it's clearly gonna come out exactly the same. You can't possibly recreate it with 100% accuracy unless you were making it in their equiptment and with one of the monks.

It's $11 for a 10oz bottle here in PA. I'm clearly paying that much everytime I want to enjoy one. I've also never brewed a quad so why clearly use my favorite one as my goal to shoot for? :)

2.50 here, lmk

These are brewers gold, they are like 3 weeks behind the cascade because of clearly breaking the ground as early.

tl;dr = aged in virigin PA oak barrels for only 2 weeks did this beer wonders, its brutally hopped but tastes like hops without being way over bitter
grassy, pine, citrus like orange and lemon and then the oak brings it all together
at nearly 8% abv it doesnt taste like it at all

Evidently they do this every November. A fest with ~15 other breweries that benefits charity and they auction off vintages of their brews that have been donated

I am completely unimpressed with unibroue. This is my 5th time I have given them a try and as far as I am concerned they can go fuck their own Canuck ass in a gutter with paint thinner. About the only thing they have done half decent is "le terrible."

Drank a "17" by them tonight and it blew dick. Belgian dark strong ale my tit. More like a bad apple cider as far as I'm concerned.

adam, your assignment today is to poop me like 5 beers to be on the lookout for this weekend, think im going to portland for kicks sat.  i dont have a list perse but i have some in mind that if i see them i will buy them.

Give me a link for the one place you stop at.

Also, we should discuss packaging arrangements again and any additions/subtractions of goods ;)

First thing that comes to mind is BBQ (Bourbon Barrel Quad)

1. BBQ
2. Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout

those are both on my watch list. im talking other things i may clearly have heard about (which ofc you would have no idea if i have or havnt)
and im going to hit up a few different places this time, so hit me with your best shot

Don't get me wrong...I know hotd is in high demand and this is a limited brew aged for over a year but seriously fuck that. I wanted a case for aging and trading but I refuse to buy more than a bottle or two at that price
