i proal have the same/similar $40 as you (it was 40 when i bought it 5+ years ago), http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-DBM-8-Supr.../dp/B00018RRRK/
and i dont think you realize how spectacular the proper grinders in comparison.

what im saying is its sufficient, but by no means is it good. the finer the grind the less consistent the grind is from the cheaper machines. and too much dust on any setting by comparison.

im clearly really trying to argue with you about a coffee grinder, but there is worlds of difference between this grinder and say, http://www.amazon.com/Rancilio-Rocky-Doser...r/dp/B000AYWU9K.
its clearly a question of how fine, or how coarse, but of consistency in that setting. and static produced (though this has a lot to do with the quality and overroastedness of the bean). and that bit of powder that cheap grinders get mixed in. anyway, unless you have seen/tasted the difference its really a moot point.

i had no idea grind could be such a difference. i could never explain to my wife, however, why i would need a 300 dollar grinder, lol

you ever just sit at your computer with headphones in but aren't listening to anything because you haven't made it that far yet?

I do that all the time, and it usually is like 30-45 minutes of jackassary in headphones.

Why do I do that?

If I woke up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet, I couldn't be more surprised than I am right now.

whatever you do dont ever force yourself to wake up at 6 am for weeks straight to retrain your body.
you are a slave your body, repent.
