Good places -> The (insert) store, classes, beach/park/lake[etc], coffee shop (unless you're a huge pussy like Joe), bars, [etc]

Bad places -> The gym, work, anywhere the woman clearly has an objective and you are intruding on her time, [etc]

The bar is always going to be the most obvious first choice, but that involves possibly driving drunk or taking a cab. Cabs are the way to go, they aren't anywhere near as expensive as a DUI...

Do you have hobbies? We've talked about them, they seem to be only PC related. Perhaps you have things you are interested in, but don't see them as reasonable and put them aside or forget about them. Write those thoughts down and look into them, it's going to take some effort on your part to get out of the rut.

Do you have any interest in taking any type of classes? Dance, sports, language, [etc]... You could easily find a school around the area and get into a class or two with your Army Reserve money. I am breaking my own rule with this one, but I've put off taking dance lessons for a while now. I've always wanted to, regardless of how "gay" some of you think it might be, it's a great way to meet girls, learn some new moves, and get some exercise.

Also, I know you might not think of this as a good idea, and I list [work] as a bad place previously, but that's in your line of office work. Try a serving position at a sports bar (assuming it has a restaurant as well), a regular bar, or well known restaurant. It will help you deal with tons of people in a close situation (outside of your normal office routine bullshit), and is also a job where you will meet many woman, young and old. I love my job right now, I met a girl I like from work (although I can't see her), but it's just a good place for young people.

If you need some more ideas, Uncle Nicholai Mosdreasen is here for you.

just make small talk wherever you go to a girl if shes cute. often times they will engage in conversation or respond. as long as you are confident and seem interested in what they have to say you should be doing quite well

Read the first line. You aren't even addressing the topic.

I would warn you if I could, along with all of the other OT faggot replies.

That's OfC, the point Evan was trying to make out. It helps if your parents are rich though! ;)

Also, seriously, try talking to random girls as much as possible (even just a "hello" should count as a "meeting"), which probably isn't a lot since you live in the boonies and I assume you mainly go/return from work.

I get to talk to random girls all of the time because of my job, they think I am outgoing and funny, while I am a complete shy nerd. It helps get over that. A 2nd job for fun is the best way IMO.

half of those places he listed are good, but idk how i would start a conversation with a girl sitting at a coffee shop table alone.

parties/class i can talk to any girl that isnt completely out of my league without being to nervous, but i have never even attempted to talk to a girl i think is cute at a coffee shop or park.

just seem like a creeper. :donno:

iso halp, im sure gary is thinking the same thing or maybe im out of place.

Is she reading something? Ask her about it. Make a joke about her boring she is to be reading at a coffee shop, and lighten it up with how boring you are that you aren't reading at the coffee shop. It's probably one of my favorite places to sit down, bullshit, enjoy some coffee, and waste time at. If I had a laptop I don't think I would ever be home. A girl at the park is not there for chance, is she walking, is she walking a dog, playing a game, [etc]? Ask her, find out, smile at her, talk to her.

One of the hard things to do with "meeting girls" at places, is to remember that you aren't really trying to fuck them, you're just trying to get to know more people and extend your social circle.

Also, another great place that I forgot about is any type of "venue". I mean concerts, fights, shows, [etc]. Depending on what type of venue you are at, is what type of chick you will meet (predominately, but not always true). You're up north, there has to be shit happening all of the time within a few hours of you. Go see some of it, get out of your house, make excuses to not do coding [etc] for our dumb asses.

Also, go visit mates. Go see Dan, Steve, Tek [etc]. A short weekend trip isn't going to kill your wallet. Some gas money, I'm sure the stay will be cheap, aside from drinks & food. Going to new places and have the feeling of traveling and doing something new and exciting always invigorates ones self esteem and confidence.

You have no idea how bad I want to go to Canada to see this girl right now.

Good places -> The (insert) store

Clothing stores are great for this, one of my friends works one day each week at Express for the sole purpose of meeting women. A minimal knowledge of fashion and a bit of interest in it, as well as paying some attention to dressing nicely (careful attention to fits/cuts of clothing and pairing of pants/shirt/shoes etc) will go a pretty long way, and a mild interest in fashion is a good talking point. As far as learning this, "Esquire's Big Black Book Of Style" is a great start, and looking sharp at the office is good for both your personal and business lives.

Stores like H&M, Express, and even typical department stores can be good for this, not overly expensive, plus you can only look for stuff that is a "perfect fit" so you don't need to always be buying something. You can also supplement this by picking out the nice stuff at cheaper places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls that carry a notable amount of :euh: clothing, but also a decent selection of designer stuff, and you can find some great stuff and not pay a lot (I can find RL Polo stuff in tall sizes there enough to outfit myself, try on a selection of stuff and you may notice that some designers/lines will fit you better than others, find your size and seek these out).

This is also a good addition to getting in shape as you can avoid your no tent-like clothing and look good at the same time.

I sure am glad I married my HS gf, dating out of school seems like too much trouble imo, I would be cursed to die single, lonely, with a huge right arm
