poll choice examples

Victims take full point loss
Killing a brand new person will give you 5 points, if they kill you, they will get 15 points and you will lose 15 points
Killing someone around your same skill level will give you 6-8 points, if they kill you they will get 6-8 points, you will lose 6-8 points
killing someone much hgiher than your skill level will give you 15 points, if they kill you they will get 5 points, you will lose 5 points

Killing someone around your same skill level will give you 6-8 points, if they kill you they will get 6-8 points, you will lose 3-4
Killing someone much higher than your skill level will give you 15 points, if they kill you they will get 5 points, you will lose 2-3 points

first choice makes the points more based on skill, kill/death ratio, dominations, etc

second choice makes the points more based on time played, objectives completed, balances out the issue of losing a ton of points when new people kill you

I am like 60/40 on this vote. A part of me wants the stats to accurate display the top players based on skill level alone. But there is no way to accurate determine that and there should be some credit given if someone plays more on the server than someone who is a once and done. Based on your summary I went with the 1/2 option just because I don't think people who only played in the server one time should be shown as top players.

Also, while sitting at work today (with again absolutely nothing to do) I figured out your scam with killing yourself with the rocket launcher. You are a dirty bastard screwing with the stats. Killing yourself with rocket should get you -20 points instead of using that to your advantage and regain full life. Shame shame on your randomtask.

it gives -5 points for a suicide
and i dont do that normally, just on orange_x when below 50 health (no safe rocket jump into spawn to get my health back, and no hope to kill someone with less than 50 health anyway)
and stats dont usually count when only a couple people, i just dont like to die :D

thing is don't you all think that over a month, 2 months, whatever, that regulars will have joined and thatrandoms are not 50-75% of the server but 25% tops, thus lowering the number of people stealing your points?

no not really
the percentage of new people that will be joining will always be significant, even if there are a lot of people who regularly visit the server

and even if there is always regulars and no new people, i still think the 1/2 option would be better, just so that we can move up in points, instead of staying the same/going down

just saying, when on wdf toyfort server, and it says xxx got 9 points for killing xxx. to me that means equal exchange of points.

but they scale points different, a difference of say 200 points is only a standard 5 points

12 or 15 ofc

but that server si generally at least half full of regulars, so not as noticeable
