atm im working on upgrading a gastly into haunter, then I am going to trade him along with kadabra and graveler over to my crystal version and back to kick them up to their tier 3 forms

after that I want to level them up to 30 along with gyarados, fearow and hypno, then I can start clearing saffron city content

blue, gold, and silver are busted (they dont save, old save files are deleted)

I can probably still get some of the early blue version pokemons like bellsprout meowth and caterpie by just catching and trading em in one sitting. Magmar is going to be a bitch for sure though.

i might be too retarded to figure out how to do emulators; can you trade among your save files in the emulator?

dont think so but what you can do is use cheats to find a best friend pokemon.. i think its only in the leaf green and fire red versions not the gameboy color version

golem is ez'd, water/grass, and is rock/ground og;dc horribad

machamp is fighting, just don't put him out against flying/psychic and you're good to go

also rock slide t4t

zapdos is so you can still fly, but if you switch out a different one always go jolteon ofc

most grass are double type poison, so golem can dig/earthquake, teach fireblast via tm, or just explode

only thing fighting is good against is normal (snorlax/tauros), and gengar already counters that shit; earth guys are immune to electric, and resist fire and normal

ive been using beedrill a little, he can one shot most psychics grass and poisons (only bug that actually learns bug moves)

golem's slow, most grass will attack first vs him... or you know just put out a water pokemon. omgz he exploded, well then you lost him too, that's pro.

fighting is good against normal, rock, ice and if youre playing gold, steel and dark. fighting is ofc. teach him rock slide, then you also cover fire bug and flying

jolteon > beedrill

pin missile (bug) + electric is ofc


tl;dr, machamp > golem

This is by far the best team you can put together.

You have 2 pokemon that can use fly. And Charizard can use Dig.

Gengar is just a fucking maniac and mega drain can be the grass skill to kick some ass. And other grass/bug skills are weak against him.

And Alakazam is a superb beast.

Articuno is your cold pokemon cablable of learning moves that can kill grass/water/fighting.

Hitmonchan is an awesome hybrid pokemon. I teach it 2 fighting moves then teach it Thunderpunch/Firepunch.

Allows it to kill other pokemon easily.

And Electrobuzz has the most power in Special Attack then any other pokemon. So Thunderpunch and Thunderbolt rock with him.

charizard doesnt learn flamethrower until level 65 (52 if you do not let charmander evolve), moltres and growlithe learn it earlier + have better stats

im not impressed with fighting types for any purpose other than occasionally beating the shit out of tauros/snorlax (or whatever normal pokemon might be lined up)

IMO electric types are most useful when they have high speed (thats why im partial to electrode, fastest fucker there is) I think ill check out electabuzz in stadium

I wasn't talking about what is the best to raise up with. But when Charizard is all pumped up, he is the best.

And Gengar is wickid fast. And he can leech massive amounts of life and physical and grass doesn't even touch him.

I don't like fighting either but Hitmonchan can use other elemental spells in the punches which is awesome.

And the only other electric pokemon I like besides Buzz is Magneton for the selfdestruct. And in Crystal I love him because he is Steel also.

The only speed pokemon I really use is Gengar. He is ultra fast and the most special ever. 4 Best moves to rock with him is Hypnosis/Dream Eater/Mega Drain/Thunder Punch or Psychic.

Alakazam Vs Gengar I get to attack first since Gengar is way faster. And I put you to sleep. Then I use Thunderpunch a couple of times and pwn your ass.

Whatever you throw out next I got you fucking covered. With Gengar still alive you are fucked without Alakazam and I have an alakazam of my own.

I am going to try to finish red before I try to learn the second generation pokemons, when I tried crystal I had no idea what the fuck anything was so all I used were my feraligator pidgeot and gyarados because i was sort of familiar with them (I assumed feralligator was the same thing as blastoise because he is blue)
