I have played LoL for a few months and I have noticed there is usually some, self proclaimed pro" in about half of the "normal" games I have played that will chirp at one of his own team mates, bashing his skill level and blaming him for the teams inability to be effective against the other team. It may seem self evident to some, however, it is worth mentioning... the most unproductive thing any team can do is bash their own team member. To make matters worse, players that bash their own team in "all" chat is even more idiotic. I am not often the target of such bullying, though I try and jump on anyone that starts with "(Insert Champion name here) is a "noob" "unskilled" "******ed" "should uninstall" "is the worse ever" etc.
If a player is having a rough start and is unable to be effective against an opponent, it completely demoralizes the player to have one of his own team members bully him. For anyone who experiences this on their team and does not try to refocus the team with encouragement or suppressing the bully, you are accepting the loss early in the game. Yes, there is a system of reporting etc. that is rather ineffective at player harassment in game. So, for anyone that feels they have any leadership qualities, please, if someone is bashing the team you are on... stand up to them or accept that you are a coward and are part of the bullying/oppression problem. If there is anyone that agrees with this I would really like to know why it happens in so many normal games.
I can't say I enjoy hearing the other team be bashed but at least there is some logic or psychology that would say this is a good strategy. It is absolutely NEVER helpful to your own team.
As a team player you have options on helping your team to focus. I would suggest offering assistance or understanding to the player having a crappy start in a game. You would be surprised at how it can turn a game around.
Any comments (or flames) would be appreciated.
