yeah i died a bunch, but failed only once. this was the only part of medium difficulty that was actually tough. i cant imagine this on 1999 mode

is 1999 harder than hard, or just hc mode?

its harder than hard, less money, enemies do lots of damage. also, it costs 100 dollars every time you die, and if you dont have the money, you go to the main menu

im going to see how far i can go in 1999 mode, theres some tricks people use to get lots of money (hacking vending machines) so ill try that

hack vending machines? you mean use your first vigor on the machine so it drops money?

yes, apparently theres an area towards the beginning that you can fly on the rail into a zone, hack a machine, then rail out again. when you come back the machine is hackable again. also apparently theres a salts replenishing machine so you can do it infinite times. i figure i could beat 1999 mode if i had infinite money (maybe 20-30k dollars)

not really a cheat code, more just exploiting the game to make it easier. fighting the lady comstock ghost and airship battle are balls hard apparently, ill need all the gear/upgrades to even have a chance

took me a while before i stopped killing the resurrected and just sniped the crap out of her

got it on first try ton8
was drowsy after allergy meds last n8, though i at least learned the tactics for this run
all in all 10/10 game, meni fun

also ending made me sad. not tears, but "ohh, the humanity "

i really liked the story/mindfuck aspect of it... super cool dual timeline idea, but i was sad about booker's fate... especially because he loved elizabeth toward the end. playing it through a second time is awesome when knowing the ending, because certain things make sense - like the coin toss at the fair, etc. etc.

1999 mode is difficult, but ive managed to do pretty well (only died about 5 times total maybe?) sitting back and sniping with the carbine/sniper rifle. if guys run up to you i shotgun or machine gun them to death. using pretty much only murder of crows because it distracts everyone pretty well and i can snipe them. the AI isnt super smart so these tricks work. i just bet that the final battle will be impossible

at the return to the hall of heroes chapter ATM. farming money till i get about 20,000 (i assume at least 100 runs, they take about a minute or two each). with that much money i should be able to get all the upgrades and have maybe a tiny chance at beating the game

20,000 is out of the picture, money is so bad in 1999 mode, only find about 10 dollars average per cash register, maybe 60 dollars / run. have 30 lockpicks though...

beat it on 1999 mode. final battle wasnt horrible. i upgraded rocket launcher and sniper all the way, used songbird on the airships only, rocketed down some of the other airships. spammed possession on the patriots, used return to sender traps in front of the energy thing we are supposed to protect

i wanna play through a 3rd time to get the achievements i didnt get yet, but not on 1999 mode. maybe ill just play on hard? the handyman achievement is the only one that seems impossible

once i cap off the binding of isaac achievements im going back to bioshock achievements
