I honestly voted for Kovalev in the trick competition, the soccer inspired flip of the puck onto the back of his head was fucking sweet, but it's about popularity. I couldn't believe we got to witness a new hardest shot record, that one might hold up for a while. Also surprised to see Doan win the breakaway challenge.

I was also amazed that two people went 4 for 4 in the Accuracy contest, that's pretty ridiculous considering only 4 people had ever done it previously. Nobody has shit on Ray Bourque though.

I wasn't impressed by Kovalev, Getzlaf's wraparound was pretty sick though.

I don't think Kovalev lost due to a lack of popularity though, there were plenty of Montreal fanboys voting for the all star lineup in the first place. Ovechkin is a good showman/character, certainly one worth marketing more than certain other stars who get a lot of attention.
