Celts only ever have 1 bad quarter against the Cavs, they can take them in 7 games.

Lakers are better than any other team.

I wish Dwight wasn't such a pussy and took shots.

Dwight is too 'fun' and happy to be an alpha dog. I can't ever see him getting mad at his team and demanding shots. Therefor he will never win a title, or at least not with the Magic.

the cavs needed to beef up their interior and they did it. i think it gives them better defensive presence. it allows their guards to relax on help defense a little more and to stay home on the perimeter if needed. what could hurt the cavs is if their big men won't be healthy enough to play or produce during the playoffs. but their management should be applauded for making the right moves this year.

i don't see the magic as a legit contender. i think they're great, but i don't see them as a team that's really gelled yet. they're an awkward group but if dwight had a loittle more help in the middle, they'd be a serious contender.

celtics: too old. they have it all, but mainly if u hit the rewind career button. they're crafty and they have a lot of heart, so i wouldn't officially count them out.

lakers ... they have the size and talent to win. i just don't want to see it. borrrring.

bucks. nah. redd is a great player, jennings is a budding superstar, and bogut is having a great season. they have alright help, too, but i just don't think they have it. maybe later, if they can build on their foundation and keep the team together.

suns. they're always hyped to kick ass and they always disappoint. they need size. shaq wasn't the answer--he didn't fit quite right. they're a bit old, and while they're loaded with talent (not just nash and stoudamire, but i still think that if grant hadn't been badly injured a few times, he'd be considered one of the best of all-time). anyway i don't expect them to do very well but if they do, i'd be really happy.

other teams. there are plenty of good teams but anyone except the cavs/bulls/celtics/magic would need a cinderalla playoffs to win. i like denver's chances just because they have a great mix, a great coach (when he's able to make games this season), and good depth and size.

regardless i'm 97% sure this year belongs to the cavs. last year lebron went on a mission and i think he has a team that can follow him this year.

probably, but maybe the wiz will get an OK draft pick and rebuild

so yeah redd and bogut are out, the bucks are fucked. jennings is great but he won't be able to lead them too far. they may have some kind of chance @ 2nd round, ofc.

still predicting cavs to win. it's an open playoff year but the cavs seem pretty solid.

tbh the bulls are a better team than they appear going by standings but unless rose has a HUGE series they have 0 chance. the 2-2 regular season series means nothing. the bulls are a team that could become really good with a few moves. if they`d missed the playoffs they might`ve had a better draft etc.

rose is a good player and all but he can't possibly stop lebron, and lets be honest the bulls wouldn't even be the 12th best team in the west

bulls over cavs

tbh the bulls are a better team than they appear going by standings but unless rose has a HUGE series they have 0 chance. the 2-2 regular season series means nothing. the bulls are a team that could become really good with a few moves. if they`d missed the playoffs they might`ve had a better draft etc.

rose is a good player and all but he can't possibly stop lebron, and lets be honest the bulls wouldn't even be the 12th best team in the west

i agree. i think rose gives them an outside chance but the bulls don't have enough firepower. they've got some talent and they can play defense, but they aren't really ready and they don't have enough depth, especially at each position. i can see them stealing a game or two but i predict a sweep by the cavs. the bulls have a lot of heart and they have the ability to rebound and play defense, which can give any team a little trouble, especially with rose's ability to flat-out play.

donno-ish stuff:
i don't know if i'd say they aren't good enough to sit 12th in the west, but the west is pretty loaded. i'd say that the bulls probably compare well with a team like houston. oklahoma has brighter prospects than the bulls, but the bulls are a team with potential. a lot of teams (san antonio being the most obvious case, next to phoenix and boston) have to worry about losing potential because they're getting older, etc. a well-managed bulls team could be looking at 3rd/4th in the east next year, and if they were in the west, probably fighting for playoff position. in the east, ny and toronto and probably the two teams to look for in terms of beating out the bulls next year. the bulls are iffy but i think that if they'd played better they'd look better coming out of the east. i don't think they're deep enough to do serious damage.

east/west stuff:
everyone always talks about how great the west is, but i don't think they're as overpowered as one might think. the west is a deeper division, but after denver there's a huge dropoff in the west. san antonio is good when they're at the best, but they're in serious decline. portland is a mixed bag, utah is a would-be great team that just isn't quite there. there's all about williams. boozer this, boozer that, he's a match up player who can't dominate the post against good opposition. milsap is good, kirilenko is aight, korver has eagle eye implants etc but they aren't as good as they seem (imo). sad to say i think a team like th heat would match up ok against them if wade goes nuts. a healthy bucks team would be a challenge for the jizz/jazz. oklahoma city has BIG prospects, and they're better than they seem (much like the bucks in the east...if the bucks can add some depth, look the f*ck out).

moreover at the top tier the east is stronger. don't give me lakers this and lakers that. the cavs are the best team in the nba this year. and i'll grant that kobe bryant is so much better than lebron james that the comparisons actually annoy me (but lebron is a physical freak and he IS talented--and getting better). dallas and the suns should just get married. they're both teams that are built to do well in the regular season and then disappoint in the playoffs. denver is LEGIT, i think they're better than the mavs and the suns, but i think they must lack a little chemistry or something. they have a great coach, so the blame has to go on players in the nuggest organization. billups and melo are fantastic, though. i think they're a MUCH better combo than williams and boozer, mainly because melo is so much better than boozer. boozer and overrated are synonymous. orlando, atlanta and (aging) boston are all legit, serious contenders. this is how i'd look at the east vs west in terms of how good they really are, ignoring actual depth:

east teams with a "chance" to win it all:
1. cleveland
2. orlando
3. atlanta
4. boston
west teams with a "chance" to win it all:
1. fakers
2. nuggets
i'd say the jazz and suns are the "chance in hell" teams from the west, but i don't see them as legit contenders.

enough of this west domination stuff :P

the mavs are good this year but i don't think they have what it takes to win the championship. the thunder are an up-and-coming team that now understands how to win. they aren't seasoned yet and they could use some improvement. the thunder are sitting on a potential dynasty but they need to get better either through smart draft picks, trades, or high-quality player development. i don't think either team has a realistic chance at winning the championship this year, without meaning any disrespect to them.

it's starting to look a bit like the cavs are the only team with a chance to win, but they'll probably need shaq all the way. he played great tonight, and he looks much better than he has in the last few years tbh (i mean his physique has improved during his time off), but i'm not convinced he won't have thumb and other issues.

shaq is the most overrated player ever

Orlando and Cleveland are the only really good east teams this year, boston is old they are done and they will be lucky to win their first round matchup.

Jazz have been the best team in the west the last month imo, i wouldn't sleep on LA dallas or denver though.

shaq was the most dominant center in the history of basketball, that's like overrating the heat of the sun :P

boston IS old but they're crafty and they've got heart. the jazz isn't as bad as i like to say they are, but i think they're still a borderline true elite nba team. la and denver have great teams, but my belief is that the cavs will win it all. la is better than their record shows for the season, but they need to be healthy and hungry to be a contender. they've been lazy at times this season, which is surprisingly with kobe driving the horses.

i like denver a lot, but not as much w/o george carl. i hope he gets better soon.

so i feel bad for oklamhoma because they're up against a big, talented and experienced team. maybe they will have the energy to make it a srs series.

i think for this round to two most competitive series could be:
heats vs celtics
spurs vs mavs

i think the spurs vs mavs series is the most open series in terms of who might win.

atm it looks like howard might get 700 blocks if he gets back on the court after foul trouble. 9 so far. the bobcats will look worse than they are in this serie,s because they're heavily outmatched. orlando is beatable but it would take a MAMMOTH effort and some good fortune.
