Redwings & Coyotes is going to be the series to watch in the first round in the West. Rematch of last year, those games were amazingly good, this year should continue the fire.

Boston & Montreal is always good to watch, Tim Thomas is such a huge Xfactor right now, the guy is a brick wall.

Redwings will win the cup this year, or I will cry again. Either way, Vancouver is not winning it. They are going to be exposed as frauds in the playoffs, again.

Sure there is.

In an 82 game season, the Capitals won 48 games, the Rangers won 44. 11 of the Capitals 32 losses came in overtime, where they earned a point for losing a game (because the NHL is retarded), while only five of the Rangers 38 losses came after the end of regulation.

Then there are the four meetings between the teams this season. Caps won the first one 5-3, Rangers won the other three 7-0, 2-1, and 6-0. Henrik Lundqvist is arguably the best goaltender in the NHL, and with Marc Staal and Dan Girardi as the top defensive pair in front of him, he has completely shut down the Caps. Mike Sauer and Ryan McDonagh have only solidified the Rangers defense as the season went on, and Bryan McCabe beefs up the defense some more as well as giving the Rangers power play some more balance towards the back.

... and then there is the Capitals joke of defense and goaltending. 7-0 and 6-0 games, and in the one game they won, they gave up a goal to Derek Fucking Boogaard, who hadn't scored one in 234 games, the longest streak in the NHL at the time. The Rangers have also removed several wasted of space since that game (by trade/injury/AHL demotions) - Alex Frolol, Todd White, Michal Rozsival, and Derek Boogaard. Rozsival was -3 in that game, the worst of any Ranger, and made some memorably bad defensive plays left Lundqvist very vulnerable.

i think the rangers have an upper hand because of their goaltender position. The only goaltenders that had better stats this year i think are Luongo and Tim Thomas. Also, is ovechkin 100% healthy?

Ovechkin is closer to 100% than he was most of the year. Lundqvist is arguably a better goaltender than Thomas, behind a weaker defense (though the Rangers have stepped up their defense through the season).
