HOF 2014 ofc

There's a pretty strong group going for the HOF that year too. Recchi and Modano are easily first ballot, after them there are some strong candidates who retired this year.

Peter Forsberg - absolutely dominant in his prime, but his career was shortened quite a bit. Still, 2 cups, calder, art ross, hart, 3x first-team all-star should overcome the Canadian bias against Europeans.

Wild card for the fourth one:
-Doug Weight (19 years, 1000+ points, 1 cup)
-Brian Rafalski (3 cups, 5 finals in 11 years, one of the top OFD, but a short NHL career)
-Chris Osgood (400 wins, a few cups, played for the Red Wings)
-Adam Foote (2 cups, Olympic gold, franchise leader, weaker numbers)

is there a rule in hockey preventing you from stuffing a 600+ lb person in the goal so that no puck could ever go in

It is certainly a valid argument that a player should be the most dominant at their position for at least one year. While I don't think Osgood stands up to the other players, there have been some monster seasons that were overshadowed by even more exceptional ones. I don't think Osgood is worthy though, his success was more a result of being an good player with quite a few HOFers in front of him and an all-around great team.

wrap arounds

the net is big enough that simply being massive isn't enough. moving from side to side requires amazing athleticism, I have seen guys who are bigger than me who tried to play goal and let in tons of bad angle shots. it is really funny to see guys who can barely play hockey just throwing the puck at the net from bad angles. any competent passer can outplay a massive goalie with weak skills.

not to mention fat is soft and can be moved in the case of a puck being shoved in with a stick

The best part is that the announcer just starts laughing like an idiot when he scores in the shootout.

the only thing i know about osgood, is that he has a long career and an insane number of wins. im not much of a hockey fan, and i know that which means something. is this enough to get into the HOF? i donno
