stars gm just got a 5 year extension
then told everyone why he deserved it. he has benn until 2017 and is going to have to pay him a lot more (the same year the sharp contract goes away) he has seguin til 2019, who will also require way more money (thats when the spezza contract expires)

genius really, but i guess you have to expect that at the top levels

personally i don't see stars getting very far, especially with seguin out
who else do you have with playoff experience? goligoski, sharp, oduya, niemi? hemsky from an era when oilers were relevant?
second-round exit imo, i think the lack of defense will be your doom
and i have no idea how your goalie situation will go in the playoffs, would make sense to ride niemi given his playoff experience, no?
next year you could go further if you get a good defenseman (maybe lindell or honka will get a roster spot and break out, who knows)

hot takes on sabres season, watched almost every game

matt moulson was fucking terrible all year, made a few nice plays in the final games though

eichel is as described, he is a fantastic passer and has a great shot as well. he will be a stud soon
samson reinhart blew me away this year, he was getting easily shoved off the puck last year and he was fantastic in front of the net this year, excited to see what his ceiling could be

evander kane shoots the puck every time it touches his fucking stick, but he is a pest on defense and overall played well for the sabres

ennis got his brain scrambled this year, but he is back skating so we will see if he can be a winger for the team moving forward

risotlinan is a fucking stud, he is a legit #1 defenseman

sabres young other young defense, mccabe pysyk have a long way to come still. bogosian is what he is, dont see him getting better

lehner was good when he was in net, needs to stay healthy

would love to see the sabres get a solid defenseman or winger in the draft

zemgus had an off year, i could see him being moved even though i do love his style of play

foligno is a great 3rd line winger

larson would be a great 4th line center but he's currently playing on the 3rd line

really didnt want to see the stars playing the blackhawks in the first round, we owned them all regular season i feel like that would come back to bite us
