Then get the DUI charges thrown out and take one for resisting arrest.

pulling clever tricks on dui cases don't work too well, and gain you no favor with the judge.

They need evidence though, if they have a weak case it is much easier to get off a good plea bargain.

true. all depending on the judge and what is "accepted" in the area. which ofc none of us know.

2 yrs in GA dropped to 1 year depending on if you take a defensive driving AND a DUI class both of which cost around 1k each

If you have been arrested for DUI, and you refused to take a breath, blood or urine test, OR if you took the test and your result is 0.08% or higher, you have only 10 days to request a special hearing with the FDHSMV to save your license. Failure to timely request a hearing will result in a penalty of at least a six-month suspension (and as much as an 18-month suspension) of your Florida driving privileges.

pretty sure WI is just night in jail, plus 6 months of forced classes and one year of limited driving.

WI has alot of DDing though, alot.

EDIT :

Wisconsin Fines and Penalties
First offense OWI / DUI is a forfeiture violation subject to a fine of $150 to $300, plus an OWI surcharge of $355, and license revocation from 6 to 9 months, except first offense OWI with a BAC of .08 or more, but less than .10, there is no surcharge or other additional fees.

Yeah Wisconsin is quite lenient on our charges, but im pretty sure a class is forced on you no matter what.

By request:

So last night my buddy from work and I decided to go have some cocktails. At about 9 PM at our 3rd bar, he wanted to go try this bar that we had gone to a few times on Tuesday night. It's a mobscene there because it's 2 for 1, 10PM-1AM. There are tons of people.

Long story short, I didn't want to go but I reluctantly agreed since I was not driving. We had a cocktail and went outside to smoke, and then I don't really remember the next 2 hours or so.

We left when the bar closed (this is where solution one should have been my taking a cab), and when my friend started driving south in the northbound lane, I started yelling at him about what the fuck he was doing. He jumped the concrete median and ended up blowing out his right front tire, so we quickly pulled into a parking lot about 2 minutes from my house.

He had no jack in the car, or we were too drunk to find it, so there was no changing of the tire. We tried calling someone to come get us, but they didn't answer (solution 2 occurs here, as I could have called my family). I decided that I would quickly try to drive us to my house so that he wouldn't have to get his car towed and we could figure it out in the morning (I have a jack here anyway so we could have changed the tire).

I was pulled over in front of a Wal-Mart that is literally a 15-20 second drive from my house. We were nearly there when we got lit up. The police pulled us over the flat tire and I tried to explain to him the situation. He smelled alcohol on us and my buddy was slurring his speech, he knew we had left a bar.
