If I express my opinion and speak my mind, I am considered an asshole, forfeit my chance to climb the ranks on the d2jsp site (lol @ now of course), abandoned by "friends" who don't want to be associated with an "asshole", and labeled as having a bad attitude when I call out too + too clearly being equal to 4.
If I try to be helpful and treat others with respect, I am chastised for "changing" and trying to be the best Junior Moderator that I can be.
There is an obvious dissent growing on this site, there is absolutely no mistaking that. Back when DC formed, there was some dissent (and I fully admit that I was one of the main people behind it, Phil comes to mind quickly as being another) when people got their Trusted Tags, and IMHO, abandoned mates. ___ & Sgull would still hang out with us occasionally, but some, like paparick, abandoned us entirely. Lets call that water under the bridge and old news. People changed, we dealt with it, and moved on.
Since several of us started playing WoW, the forum mood has entirely changed. Those who play, and those who don't. The entire attitude is baseless, most topics are ruined with worthless "WoW faggots, WoW nerds, DOTS, [etc]" poops. I have had a long talk with Gary about it, and he doesn't want us to throw away our lives to the heroin of online gaming. A valid concern, but I don't think that will happen. What has changed however, is the fact that we are still on Ventrilo, gaming, being nerds, while the rest of you call us out on it constantly, yet dodge playing or hanging out. Sorry that we hang out more often than you, I guess your night lives are a bit more dramatic than ours.
Most of you don't even belong on this forum, I still am confused as to why this site was led open to other people, although I am also glad that it was. I got to become friends with many people I wouldn't have otherwise met, so for that, I am grateful. The rest of you however, I can't understand why you are here. The entire "og;dc" attitude is a joke, if you didn't care, you wouldn't browse/lurk/poop/troll here. Cut the shit, nobody cares you all care. Some of us, myself included, way too much. I'm clearly even a guild member, but I still consider myself one, regardless of what my d2jsp status says.
Basically, the point that I am trying to make, regardless of your current care status about tl;dr topics, the shit in your toilet (or on your bathroom walls if you prefer), is that things change. Deal with it. Yes, we are playing WoW. Big deal. I am tired of the shit by both parties, that's why I keep my simple WoW poops in the appropriate forum.
I have always thought to myself that I haven't changed at all, and that every one around me did. It took me years to realize that I have changed along with everyone else, and lately, it's been very positive. Steve, Jay, Shane, Scott & Scott, [etc] no longer poop here very often. I can only assume it is because of the lack of content, and the way that things have digressed on this site.
lack of content is horrible.
