well like ive said, just due to the nature of the game, the tanks are the most important role in any group or raid situation
player skill and knowledge is a lot more vital for tanks, they have to react instantly and control each sitaution, while healers just look at life bars and heal and dps just puts themself by the monster and hit their buttons

a new tank hurts a group a lot more than 3 new dps

you can stay as a tank, but you would need to learn to play the role, and farm low instances for gear to be capable of higher instances and raids

raid composition usually allows a max of 2 tanks in a 10 man raid and 3 tanks in a 25 man raid, whereas theres 5-12 spots for dps, you being a tank would force another tank out of the role, and theres tons of other tanks in the guild and in the game who have been playing their class for months at max level and know everything there is about tanking and the game

also, singular tanks are responsible for a lot more than any dps or single healer can be
if one tank doesnt tank one mob, people die
if one healer doesnt heal, the other healers make up for it and nobody dies
if one dps doesnt do any damage, the rest make up for it

and im all for having you tank 5 mans with us and improving gear and learning to tank, but 10-25 people in a raid wont really have as much patience for teaching a new tank what to do when they could very easily have someone who all ready knows the part come in and do it instead
