Sorry that I can't do old school achievements with you, since that is what we mean by playing. I am going to level a new character to do that with you though.

thats right, i wasnt the one spending hours nightly helping everyone level, helping everyone through instances, teaching everyone the game, starting all the groups and creating whatever shred of team play we ever engaged in
i was the one who would constantly ragequit whenever something didnt go my way, i would log off randomly without saying anything leaving 4 friends in an instance not knowing if i would be back or not, i was the one who would roll a tank to have the responsibility of tanking and then self destruct whenever that responsibility starting backfiring

not changing servers imo

and as fury goes, i have been told im not good enough (geared enough) for some of the better guilds when i do see them recruiting
fury is a dime a dozen until they get nerfed and being someone who has not cleared a 25 naxx (which is easily puggable as we all know) i basically get told to pug more and try later

and ive never been one to have 15 different chars
i generally have one, maybe 2 and play the hell out of those

and that was in d2, which was dirt easy to have a leveled, geared char

this was not recently, this was maybe 2 months ago before we were all actually in the same guild

and by better guilds, these were not guilds that you would even consider

Sorry, I don't like to be yelled at, I'm not sure anyone does. If we were at the same place, I would probably have to leave the dorm room to restrain myself from bashing someone for doing that. It's an easy option to deescalate a situation.

I'm happy that I can raid now without having to argue and want to kill my friends since they are assholes. Now I can chat with you guys nightly without the frustrations and everyone being a faggot.

ill try to lay out my opinion of your situation for you joe how i see it

youve been playing at end game in wow for maybe a few months, you play to enjoy yourself, not to gear chars and sell them for money, not to farm gold and sell it for money, not to farm items and brag about your epix to e-friends

you know how to play fury warrior, youve been doing it for long enough now

you dont have any developed "raid skills" such as
1. making full use of a user interface to allow you to be at 100% capability while moving/jumping/manuevering/paying attention to other things
2. you dont have an overall understanding of all the classes and mechanics of wow because you play one character and concentrate on it
3. you dont have experience due to not playing at end game very long, all pugs failing

you fit exactly into the group of the "average mature wow player"
in the burning crusade, these people did not raid, they just didnt do it, they had no desire, raids were designed for raiders (people who play wow to raid, and specifically have fun doing raids, not the other stuff in wow), pugs didnt exist most of the burning crusade, not because the people who would join wouldnt be able to do it if they tried for a while, but because it was just a whole new realm.

with WOTLK, as you know, shit was made easier
naxxramas and vault/os were made for people who had never raided, they were meant for those people i was just talking about, so that those people could enjoy the content

and to tl;dr the rest because anything i could say would just be redundant:

shits easy, everyone knows shits easy, so shitty ass players think they are good at raiding, they attempt to raid, they have no option but joining pugs, because of those players, pugs are ruined, those shitty players who would never even think of raiding if it wasnt so easy, are the ones who ruin the easy pugs.

im not calling you one of those shitty people, but you obviously have some room to improve (that i listed numbered above)
you fit in well to the guilds who are "restructuring", average guilds that maybe clear 10 naxx, the guilds you see bringing 10-15 people to a 25 and pugging the rest (the only reason they cant clear is because those shitty 10 pugs screw over the real players)

you need to find an average guild, play with them, show that you are better than the other shitty people, you become a main part of the guild because youre a guy that knows how to play

the only reason people judge your gear when recruiting to guilds is that there is really no other way to judge you

gear doesnt matter, skill does

i really enjoyed playing my alliance druid, i still do enjoy the gameplay, but i dont play him because hes alienated from friends
i could do anything over there and chat to you guys about it, but it would be completely foreign like it was before you all played wow

being on the same server and actually capable of interacting with things like dungeons, achievements or just hanging out, is what i like, even if you dont specifically do it most of the time

being able to go help someone with a quest if they need, or trade an item, or farm together or anything is why i like playing on a server with people i know

I originally started this game with the pipe dream thinking that we would all be playing together in a Guild and raiding, [etc]. Then months later, I realized that this game is way too expansive to get 10 people together on the same page, without specifically seeking them out. I think Joe had the same illusions when we decided to give MMORPG's a shot. I rolled a Tank because nobody else in our group had one, or really was wanting to play as one, so I figured I would do it, I had no idea of what it would require going into it. I am now capable, but after much raging, trial, and error.

I have found out after I started learning how to tank (decently, I know I am not pr0, but I'm vastly improved), that I enjoy raiding. Sitting around and waiting for a guild on Gorgonnash to come around that I could get into was not an option. I went out and looked for a guild that I could get into, had times that were appropriate for me, and is not filled with people who are going to scream at me until I rage quit.

I think Joe is currently at that problem.

i just think you and mac are both foolish for having the "grass is greener" mindset for gorgonnash vs other servers

you may very well be right, i dont know for sure, just what i seem to infer from things

joe is just at the crossroads between
1. wanting to progress and improve his gear and feel accomplished
2. being able to play casually, not having to specific run home after work to make a raid time every day, not having to feel obliged to attend every time your friends want to play, etc


i sat at that bubble for a long time, most of the time ive been playing wow, i finally went out and took option 1, accepting the fact that i dont like being stuck for x hours a night in things either, its a tradeoff

if my only goal in playing wow is rep then i will quit, seriously
and improving is only accomplished by raiding imo

yea, i also thought we could be a group of friends joining up with other small groups and begin raiding together
but some progressed much faster and didnt want to stick around and try to play together, others get on sooner than i so they would be doing the things i wanted by the time i got home
and now that everyone has gone their own direction im left not knowing what i do want to do. first id like to actually just finish a naxx. just once.
as it stands i do loremaster and rep. thats it. if that remains to be the only thing i do im not sure why id keep playing.

i dont know what else to say at this point cuz everyone has their own thoughts and views and how to go about doing things (obvious with the recent seperation of our group)
