The first section that opens will include the Lord Marrowgar, Lady Deathwhisper, Icecrown Gunship Battle, and Deathbringer Saurfang encounters. Progress beyond that point will be prevented for several weeks. Then the Plagueworks will open with Rotface, Festergut, and Professor Putricide becoming available. After another period of time, the Crimson Hall will open and you can then fight the Blood Princes and Blood-Queen Lana'thel. The final Frostwing Halls unlock then occurs after that, making Valithria Dreamwalker, Sindragosa, and the Lich King available. We believe a staggered release of the content will allow players to experience Icecrown Citadel at a sustainable, measured, and ultimately more enjoyable pace.

they might as well just tell us to come back in 6 months because thats how long it will take for actual progression fights

The initial number of attempts provided for defeating Professor Putricide is only five. When Blood-Queen Lana'thel unlocks, the amount of total attempts remaining will increase to 10. Then when Sindragosa and the Lich King unlock, 15 total attempts will be available to defeat all four bosses. After a raid has exhausted their attempts for the week, the Ashen Verdict must withdraw their support and the four most difficult bosses all despawn and become unavailable for the week. The limited attempt system is a feature of both Normal and Heroic difficulty.

The Lich King may not be attempted until Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana'thel, and Sindragosa are defeated. Furthermore, the Heroic difficulty of The Lich King encounter may not be attempted in any week unless the three aforementioned encounters have been defeated in Heroic difficulty that week.

In the weeks and months after all twelve encounters are unlocked, additional attempts against the final four boss encounters become available. This represents the Ashen Verdict growing more powerful and gaining a stronger foothold in Icecrown Citadel. To further help raids, Varian Wrynn and Garrosh Hellscream will begin to provide assistance by inspiring the armies attacking Icecrown Citadel. This is represented as an additional zone wide spell effect applied to all players that will increase their hit points, damage dealt, and healing done. This effect will also increase in effectiveness over time. Players may opt out of the spell's effect if they so wish.

IN OTHER WORDS, THERE IS A BUILT-IN, AUTOMATIC NERF OF THE CONTENT EVERY WEEK AFTER X AMOUNT OF WEEKS PASSED

LOL

new content should mean new content

not, you have a fraction of 1 raid day per week on new content, then you do the same old shit

what i really find ironic is everyone wants "hard" content, yet when faced with the option so many choose the non hard modes.

imo what really should happen is hm should be a full tier above non hm

moral of the story, no matter what people bitch about how blizz does raiding, and no one will say it but thank fucking god its not like classic

farm boss a for weeks so everyone can be geared to then farm boss b so everyone can be geared to farm boss c etc etc
id rather wipe because raid is hard, not because i didnt farm boss a enough yet

i dont care for hard content, but if they actually make it accessible based on skill rather than based on X weeks of sitting farming normal modes for the magical hard mode switch to turn on

if i was designing the raid, the first wing would be tuned for pug 25 mans (not 1 shots, fuck off people thinking pugs are supposed to 1 shot everything like everyone assumes in TOC 25 now)

the second wing and third wing would be tuned for guilds like havok to be working on progression (they should be able to clear it in a matter of a few weeks of attempts/learning)

the final wing would be tuned for guilds like havok to be progressing on in a month/2/3months (they should be able to kill arthas without wiping @ him for weeks straight)

your limiting access to arthas should be because it takes a long time to clear up to him in a week, which you make shorter every week by people knowing the tactics and getting better at the previous encounters, not that theres some magical zone wide buff that systematically nerfs content every week

i guess the "limit x attempts per week" thing is just going to be used as a check to the "extend raidid" function
which seems to work well, people put too much thought into the limit of attempts, its not like limiting a boss to 10 attempts actually accomplishes anything for stopping a raid group anyway, clearly if you have wiped 10 times, the group is either not fit to keep going or people have given up and left the group by then

its the exact same thing as classic

except, instead of wiping to a gear check, you wipe to a "this boss isnt yet accessible" error

artificial blocks because you havent farmed enough ====== artificial blocks before you havent waited long enough time since patch

faith in humanity dwindles every time i read a forum thread @ mmo champion of something like this

50% of the posts are from people who blatantly did not read the news post or did not process the words in their head as they read, therefore are making comments based on statements that are in no way, shape, or form, part of the news post

25% of the posts are people who somehow manage to understand the post but have no idea what they are saying as they post

10% of the posts are people who may or may not have read the post, but are calling someone else in the thread a retard or a nerd or a faggot

10% of the posts are people who offer nothing to the thread other than a one liner about how something is good or not

5% of the posts are actual input to the subject being discussed and worthy of being read

still a long ways off

this arena season hasnt ran nearly as long as the previous seasons, and they arent going to release lolaccessible 264 pve gear while we are middle of a season, it would completely fuck the pve gear vs pvp gear issue that is currently a huge shitstorm for blizzard
but who knows, maybe they will, gated content is gated content
