meet went alright,
totaled -10kg from last meet in march because i went for a big deadlift PR and missed -- squat and bench were the same #s as in march but @ 8-10 lbs lighter bodyweight

im right in between weight classes right now and i learned that i definitely should have put the weight cut on pause (about a week ago) because i felt like a weak bag of ass all morning
i dont think it helped that it was like 100 degrees in the gym venue but thats besides the point
next meet oct-nov

...i also think i may have set a PR for most calories eaten in a day at 5700 (2600 from five guys post meet meal) :euh:

did you place? super gz on meeting #s from last meet. you probably would have gotten the deadlift had you felt good that day

i wouldnt suggest it for more than a couple of reps in a set
if youre doing it properly then the only way to fail is from pain

this tutorial helped me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJqhfMzDtn8

this thread is the main reason i logged in today

keep up the great work Gary!

Ive dropped 30lbs via rowing this past year. It has always been a goal of mine to stay around 250lbs but increase in strength. Time to shop around for a lifting plan that will play nicely with my rowing regime.

worked up to the same weight as my best meet squat today
@ RPE 8, meaning i could have done 2 more reps, and high bar, and without knee sleeves because i forgot them like a dummy

very happy with this!

Pieman,

You still doing comps?

Im 3 years into my fatness to fitness journey. Ive dropped 65lbs bodyweight and just finishing up my 4th cycle of wendlers 5/3/1 training. Considering signing up for my first powerlifting meet "just for fun" to give me a new goal to work towards.

Dana Linn Bailey resides like 1.5 hours from me. She recently started doing pl meets. Im anxious to see if they starts hosting any meets in their gym in Reading. Im not serious enough to travel much further than that.

Well, lets not kid ourselves.... i kinda want to go just to drool, stare and be awkward in her presence

Making good on my post from 4 years ago….

Registered for my first powerlifting event next month at York barbell.

Been lifting nonstop since mentioning it in here.
My current gym numbers are:

365 bench
460 squat
500 dead

For my first meet im hoping to stick all 3 on my second attempt and go for gym/meet PRs on final attempts.
