It's like the lead singer (Cory?) is having an identity crisis between slipknot and stone sour. Heard this song for the second time on the radio this morning and it just doesn't make sense. What happened to the slipknot that would bring a bucket with a dead rat on stage, take a deep whiff and puke all over inside their mask just before going insane on a drum solo. Talk about a complete 180...writing love songs now.

They were terrible then and they are terrible now.

Is it normal for a band that portrayed themselves as being brutal and satanic to start writing love songs? Is this "selling out?"

I mean Cannibal Corpse wrote love songs like "fucked with a knife" but at least they kept their image.

I listened to them when I was like 14, then I realized how pathetic they are.

Every Cannibal Corpse album after "Tomb of the Mutilated" is the same thing, but progressively worse every time. They are very talented musicians who dumb down their playing and tune down a lot because they think it makes the music heavier. If they wrote "Hammer Smashed Face" now, it would be a 45 minute album with one riff per song.

As for Slipknot, they're a nu-metal band that has always relied on their image, there is talent within the band but it never came together for a full song. I recall a Rolling Stone interview with them while they were recording their second album, they had a world class studio known especially for it's drum room, and Jordison (who is quite talented) recorded in the basement because they want their music to sound like shit. Corey Taylor can sing pretty well, but he sucks at screaming - I can't break down what the rest of the band does because I don't know what half of them do.



I really don't see the difference between Slipknot being pathetic and Bring Me The Horizon not being pathetic

They're bad now.
