I have a stack of CDs that I haven't had a chance to listen to, I need to make sure I set aside time to listen to at least one new album per day, or at least a few per week. I will write a short summary of each one I listen to, and I try to listen through an album at least the first 1 time without interruption.

Here's what I have up next:

Casketgarden - This Corroded Soul of Mine (2003)
Casketgarden - Open The Casket, Enter The Garden (2006)
Morbid Angel - Illud Divinum Insanus (2011) - released on Tuesday, my preorder came late :( every metal reviewer on the internet hates it, gotta be pretty good.
Scale the Summit - The Collective (2011)
Thursday - No Devolución (2011)

Yes, except a bit more than half of the album is more techno/industrial than old school Florida death metal.

if the title of this thread was "albums i will not listen to..." it would be far more accurate for my personal tastes

Casketgarden - This Corroded Soul of Mine (2003)
Solid album of modern melodic death metal, but almost a bit too much At The Gates worship and similar riffs. Good vocals (again imitating ATG to a great extent), and the drums are eclectic, straight out of Gothenburg 1993 (ATG/Eucharist). Can't complain, I will listen through all of the bands works and hope they evolve from here.

Casketgarden - Open The Casket, Enter The Garden (2006)
Basically the same thing as the first one, I listened to them back to back and I only noticed a few songs into this album, same production, some riffs are a bit groovier.

Morbid Angel - Illud Divinum Insanus (2011)
Holy shit. It took the highest regarded active death metal band to break all the rules of extreme metal and make people listen to it. I really like what they did with mixing in some electronic and industrial elements while still keeping their distinct sound. This is a forced resuscitation with fresh air that most metal bands refuse to breathe.

Up next:
Scale the Summit - The Collective (2011)
Thursday - No Devolución (2011)

The entire internet hates it except for me, I have been making quite a few people really angry for simply saying that I'm not going to judge an album after 3 or 4 listens when it came out a few days ago and it is that drastically different.

Adding to the list:
Underoath - Cries of the Past (2010) - heard one song and I was impressed, it is no wonder the Underoath today doesn't have a single musician from this album left.

I am also loving Eucharist's "Mirrorworlds" (1997), how have I not heard this album when In Flames' "The Jester Race" hasn't left my CD player in almost 10 years?

Morbid Angel - [Illud Divinum Insanus #03] Existo Vulgoru
Morbid Angel - [Illud Divinum Insanus #08] Nevermore
Morbid Angel - [Illud Divinum Insanus #09] Beauty Meets Beast

Existo Vulgoru being the most badass off that album.
