New Busdriver album called Beaus$Eros is pretty weird compared to his earlier stuff, even considering he has his own take on hip-hop. I think there are some really strong tracks but some boring and weak tracks so let's just call it interesting. A lot more electronic than I could expect. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Also downloaded Nite Jewel - One Second of Love just based on the nodata comments. I just feel good listening to this album. The tags for this album were pretty extreme along the lines of 'avantgarde' and 'new weird america'. Those tags make me think of some drugged up bullshit, but I think this album was actually a very easy and pleasant listen. Of course mostly because she has a great voice. Some songs have a Joy Division vibe to them, just imagine Ian Curtis singing instead of her in this song.

Again, not sure if this is even released since I couldn't find most of the songs on youtube. This song was apparently a single released months ago.

Need to study a lot in the upcoming week or three. Listening to Pantha du Prince - Black Noise (2010) on the background. So calming but powerful, for example the track Satellite Sniper still takes me by surprise with that avalanche of a bass. One of my favorite and most-played albums. What I think is unique about Pantha du Prince in general is that he somehow stretches the timing subtly every time he brings in a new element (making you appreciate it even more) instead of throwing it in your face, or being as predictable as 90s German happy techno, like a lot of electronic music does. Also the random clicking and ambient sounds on the background help create a "landscape" and make it sound a lot more than a sum of its parts. I've found similar producers, like Sten, but nothing quite like this man.

As for those female vocalists, I didn't really find a lot of stuff I could fall in love with. Delorean was nice but not exactly what I had in mind, good stuff regardless. Also some of that stuff I was already aware of, like Beach House, Chairlift, The Raveonettes and Pains of Being Being a Hipster Pure at Heart. A lot of those singers had a great voice but they were accompanied by boring guitars and stuff like that. I guess my taste is kinda weird.

Might have to look more into Gregory and the Hawk.

Yeah i dont know many more of the likes of Zola Jesus and Fever Ray, its a fairly new genre but there must be more.

Yeah I know those, used to listen to Caribou a lot. Gold Panda's DJ Kicks is pretty solid along with his other stuff. I think the album that brought SBTRKT to mainstream attention had way too many vocals in it, I liked his earlier stuff more, like the track Atomic Peace. Washed Out is good, but overrated imo.
