was kind of mad when dany dismisses jorah, and really surprised when stannis rapes mance above the wall. he is so duty oriented its hilarious. petyr marrying lysa and her loving the idea was kind of meh, and it pissed me off how joffrey died, there i said it. i wanted him to be raped by 200000 men, not choke for 10 seconds and die drunk. oh well, i have 100 pages left, ill finish that today i suppose

i find myself rewatching season 1 episodes and making exact comparisons to the book

i really liked it a lot more in book 1 where the hands tourney was 2 days, and sandor explained his burn to sansa directly when he escorted her home

the whole investigation about jon arryn and bobby b's bastards is also much more natural in the book

the differences between the show so far are becoming more frequent
the book version overall makes more sense every time

ex, i just finished the arya chapter where they get raided
in the show its just city watch v2, and you dont really know where they are
in the book its a.lorch and twyins anti beric raiders
you know exactly where they are (by gods eye -- they cant cross the river and they cant go east back to kingsroad), and that they want to go to harrenhal (they dont know that tywin is there)
in the show it was just like oh were back from the first time looking for gendry again and oh by the way were taking you to harrenhal but you dont know where that is or why it matters

yeah i agree, imma go through and rewatch the season2 knowing what i know from reading the others to see what i missed from the books of s2 itself as well as forshadowing future events in the series that i know to be coming

dont really like the way the dragonstone scenes were all changed around, davos only has 1 son instead of like 7, no selyse, etc
also dont like that the idea to go chat with renly in the stormlands was robbs idea in the show but catelyns in the book
but most of all, having maester cresson at the burning of the statues of the 7 made the least sense considering the reason stannis did that was because he saw melisandre survive drinking the poison (which in itself is backwards -- she drinks first in the book and almost drinks the whole thing)

in the book he sends out like 117 ravens and even has davos sail to personally deliver the incest message through parts of the realm
he makes the claim based on his own conclusions from when him and jon arryn were going to the brothels

did sansa ever in the book go out to cersei and say that that her dad was planning on leaving and writing to stannis? I dont remember that in either apart from cersei just saying "it was innocence that made her tell me when she was stil in love with joffery"

cersei brings it up in past tense when she meets with her to write the letters
sansa says something like "but i love him", and cersei says something like "i know, thats why you told me what your father was doing", and she replies "he wouldnt even let me see him before we left"
this pretty much implies that sansa told cersei before the beginning of the POV ("off screen"), which makes sense considering why she was locked in her room for 3 days

another great sandor clegane ripoff from book to show (sandor/sansa moment turned into a littlefinger/sansa moment): "were all liars, and every one of us is better than you"

book 2 all from a completely show omitted part of sansas story arc with ser dontos / escaping KL

book 2 is getting so good that i find myself reading it for hours
at the end of every chapter im liked "damn, i want it to keep going"
then a new chapter starts and picks back up a different part of the story

its especially awesome that i just read the bran chapter where he meets the reeds... they seem cool as shit

reeds are badass imo

and completely left out of the TV show
