alright, posted in the wrong thread but i started book 5 and am like 100 pages in. every chapter is like omg i have to read the next one, then i realize i need to be reading this book for 11 days, otherwise i will have no other fodder whilst sitting by the pool/going to the beach.

I have a feeling he gets utterly destroyed and dies this time. also theon will be meeting up with asha then, heh. melisandre already is with jon snow, and the starks in the crypt all lost their swords so are doomed to wander the earth with no Stark to keep them down there. Bran's vision of the woman with white hair slicing a bearded man's throat beneath the heart tree and him tasting blood really makes me wonder whats going on there. was that something that already happened because the visions were going back in time (eddard with Ice, lyanna and brandon/eddard swordfighting, etc). i basically dont want it to be dany cutting jon's throat, fuck that noise. if dany is the one who succeeds in the end, ill burn all the books i bought.

just now realizing the reason these books are so involving is the way the author makes you like one character and dislike another, then by some reason their fates are connected and you are conflicted with what you want to happen to the pair/group. probably just didnt pick up on it as well in first two books, but damn is it evident in third book

alright so dan/evan, lets theorize:

okay so jon is dead. he stays dead, for a while at least. i really think there will be a melisandre POV early where she realizes that jon was her ticket, not stannis and therefore decides to take her own life to give to jon snow. dan thinks that will help him survive blowing victarion/eurons horn, because he's already dead. it would make sense, since in the end he is targ/stark, blood of everything and everyone, man of the land. and whatever it takes because i hate dany

i think jon's story is important, so he can't be gone for good. however, i would really like to see jon as a wolf, as least for a little while, and for him to understand/discover how to be a warg. also targ-stark is awesome, new fav word

nah, i was thinking about it a little bit more. dany commands dragons (for now), by bringing back jon maybe he will be able to command the dead with that big horn. he also will be absolved of his nights watch vows because his life ended. stanny b and the wildlings will take winterfell and name him lord of winterfell ( a useless title for him at this point ) but it would also enable him to utilize the ghosts of the fallen starks. or stanny b will fall and jon will take it anyway. i have a feeling stanny b is not going to take the news well that jon has a better claim to the throne than he does.

danys curse of the sun setting in the east (quentyn's death (house martell, the son of the sun)), womb quickening (heavy period at end of book). seas go dry (ironborn fall), mountains blow in the wind (ser robert strong falling?)
betrayals: jorah (gold, or love) [jorah is the most passionate male character in the series, always falling in love], daario (love, or gold)[notorious sellsword, why wouldnt he betray for gold], aegon (blood) [dany's claim is better, thats one way to solve things]

unanswered questions for me: what the fuck was jaqen h'ghar doing on his way to the wall? Now he's in old town (both places Sam was there (arya too, but i doubt hes out to kill her))

random thought but we are all agreed that the new knight in the kingsguard who is "8 feet tall" is the mountains body brought back by qyburn right? since he was kicked out of the citadel for his experiments, just want to make sure we all are in agreement with that much

hes pretty much the only guy in the entire land who is that tall. people still think sandor is alive, but he's not close in height

yeah sounds about right... martin made it very clear that only the mountain was that rediculous. i would much rather it be sandor but i think it has to be gregor. don't know what this is going to mean for the kingsguard, but its def interesting that qyburn is able to ressurect...
