1/3 into the book, the groundwork has been laid for a very interesting and intriguing story, hope it continues

whenst reading a book, you are generally "late"

ive been meaning to read this, also enders game, hyperion, starship troopers. been reading fantasy instead of sci-fi though

the one noticeably "odd" thing is the dialog, whether internal or spoken. though the setting is 21,000 years in the future or something ridiculous.

really......you have never read dune...I read it in like 4th grade after seeing the movie
also read the other 4-5 books in middle school

yea, not sure why i never got around to reading dune. i love it so far. plan on reading more of the series ofc.

The books the son wrote are pretty mediocre.

thats what everyone seems to say. but they were apparently based off of dads notes so i may read them just for the gist.

good story, great universe though. the end is a bit "here you go, everything comes to conclusion all at once". actually, the entire 3rd section is just a huge ending scenario.

reading the appendix now, will report back

to much philosophy packed into this series, i feel like it would take at least another reread to really grasp all the nuances.
think ill take a break from dune before trying out the sons work
