Watched all the episodes to date. Really liking McConaughey's character.

Have a feeling the ending of this season is going to suck.

I think it was supposed to portray his seclusion, being alone in a forest. Possibly foreshadowing to the years he's about to spend "off the grid" in the next part of the flashback.

He was in the abandoned school they never went into beforehand because they received another tip while talking to the guy mowing the lawns.

Looked to me like they were "framing" him in the window, which is what the black cops seem like they are trying to do. They are in on it I think and Rust thinks so too since he was calling them company men. Yea I think tuttle (abandonded school tuttle foundation owned btw) has alot to do with it as well but wouldnt it be a mindfuck if woody is the yellow king?

i get it now that i have researched a little bit. cohle is basically going back undercover unofficially from 2002 on. he also drinks in the interview because it makes it inadmissible

Guy on the lawnmower mowing the school lawn is obviously tied into something.

Also I don't think Hart is in on it. I think they made up their falling out up. Hart gets some questionable information out from one of the 2 boys who was messing with his daughter. He brings this information to Cohle. Cohle goes undercover and off the grid. Hart makes up some bullshit about a falling out they had.

Also the scene where they show Hart's kids messing with the dolls in a fucked up way, that's probably there for a reason. His one daughter might be involved with the cult and why she is so fucked up.

I actually did the same thing last night. So many things from future episodes were hinted at that I assumed were just drunken Rust ramblings.

In the most recent episode; After Hart beats up the kids and walks back to his car, the fact that he became sick from either guilt or nerves proves to me that all of the speculation of him being the yellow king are wrong.
