Total level: 728

Currently doing some woodcutting and flax picking, going to spin bowstrings for most of the crafting xp and string the ~400 unstrung willow bows I have banked, then burn a bunch of maples for firemaking. After that, mining coal and iron to 55, smithing a ton of steel arrowheads and putting them on the ~9000 headless arrow I have sitting, then selling those to fund construction.

Thanks, died an hour or so ago because I had to answer the phone, but I had a bunch of gold banked from stealing/chocolating 600 cakes so I'm pretty good. How much should I expect level 1-45 construction to cost? I want to build a chapel for leveling prayer, but I'm pretty sure it's going to cost a lot.

http://www.zybez.net/calcs.php?calc=Construction

Enter for the starting level, 1. The ending level 45. I did this but it was alot to copy and paste.

Depending on what you do (lets say you start with crude wood chairs to 45) it will be 932 or 933, something like that, and it takes 2 planks to make one chair, so...

1864 planks (367K)
1000 or so iron nails (15K)

total comes to about ~400K. You can use a butler which is nice for training it because you have your butler bring you back the logs and you keep a hammer and saw and nails and cash in your inventory. To get a butler (make sure to get a good one, not the very first one you are able to get) go to Ardongue and go a little bit north of the middle of the city and you should see a little shop with people walking around in it. Tell them you want to hire a person, and it will tell you who is available.

Should I build a single thing like chairs, or should I build different rooms that will actually be useful?

There are only a few things that have some sort of good use in a house. The glory ammulet mount, the teleport room, and the altar. Just make sure you have those and you will be set, other than that, just build whatever you want.

It's not that bad, currently getting mine to 45 so I can build a chapel.

You can work on it with runecrafting too - equip hatchet + earth tiara, stack of gold + 27 rune essence in your inventory (if you mine pure essence, sell it and buy cheap essence for this), start at west varrock bank, run to altar + craft the runes, chop down oaks just outside the sawmill for 27 logs, get them sawed into logs, bank, repeat.

sell oak planks and buy enough regular planks for 1-19, smith/buy some nails, regular chairs to 19, build a workshop+workbench+tools. wear an air or earth staff, put one each of the two other runes to teleport house in your inventory, 26 oak planks, teleport + grab a saw/hammer off the tools in your workshop, build, use ring of choice to teleport near a bank (lumbridge ring works).

I just decided to do all of em. Put them off for a year, and the rewards are nice.

It's not bad when I do 5-10 earth runs at a time w/ a gold stack + tiara + hatchet, then chop some oak logs and make oak planks, that also becomes profitable or results in construction xp

Karamja - if you are higher level for harpoon/lobster pot

other than that, barb village is probably the way to go, bring a hatchet + tinderbox + ff rod + feathers, fill inv w/ fish, chop a log, start a fire, cook, drop fish (not worth running to bank them), repeat

once you're higher level, karamja is pretty good, but no bank nearby.

Leveling ranged now :euh:

shooting cows outside the crafting guild for hides, tanning them, crafting them into coifs, then low alching them with my explorer's ring.
