try and find some sort of security job at concerts. pretty much a win-win except when you gotta work when lady gaga comes or justin bieber.
It's a pretty shitty job when you consider that you are watching the crowd rather than the band, most of the shows suck, and the most interesting thing you get to do at most shows is gesture at people for using cameras or smoking weed, occasionally needing to keep crowd surfers off stage or slow down a violent mosh pit. And you work the shittiest hours ever and get paid something like $9/hour. Most of the good shows would be spent making sure sweaty dudes wearing boots and no shirt didn't break their necks while crowdsurfing.
I had a friend who was a security guard, he was one of two people scheduled as pit security for a hometown Hatebreed show of 1000+ people, with Terror opening. If people were flailing and hitting people outside of the pit, or being excessively violent, I was allowed to knock them over, charge them, or whatever. That was a lot of fun but I probably should have died that night.
