She is 6 years old, going to turn 7 in a bit. I asked her what she learned about Martin Luther King, this is what she told me

-MLK was a patriot (she couldnt tell me what this meant though or why it was supposedly a good thing)
-"Black skin" people and "white skin" people "used to hate each other a lot, and they were going to have a war and stuff"
-"Black skin" people were discriminated against but they arent now (I asked her what made her think that was true, she couldnt tell me, and she couldnt tell me what discrimination is)
-MLK fixed everything and he was a hero

Fine propaganda machine we have here, you gotta get em while they are young

She is six years old, of course they dumb it down. The problem is that there are some adults who are also no higher than this level of understanding, and they hate black people because it makes them feel about themselves for irrational reasons.

I'm sure they are forced to teach it in a politically correct way and her understanding wasn't dead on with your understanding. Gotta teach them something, better than having them completely misunderstand things.
