It has honestly been 6-7 years since I last drank one and my coworkers have tried convincing me that what I purchased was skunked and should have been returned. It honestly sucked and I vowed to never buy it again. Instead of buying cans, I am getting the fliptop bottles that I can reuse in the spring when I make my homebrew.

Anyone else have grolsch before? Opinions?

Great +2 for my gut feeling based on previous experience

I am gonna try and be optimistic here, at least on the brigter side it's nearly the same cost for empties to use for homebrewing so :donno: it's a no brainer to get the beer too

If you leave your opinion of grolsch here, please state what other types of beer you enjoy or what you would compare it to

Haven't had Grolsh in a long while, but I can say that I do enjoy them. Perhaps I want to enjoy them more than I do because of how neat the bottles are.

I do not store mine out in light and I still refuse to use green. Even if your exposure is minimal why risk it

Do you refuse to use green because you have experienced the difference in green vs brown bottles or are you simply sold on the idea based off of a certain companies marketing techniques?

green bottles do not block out light as brown bottles do, thus green bottle beer that has been exposed to light skunks quickly.

this is a pointless struggle of who's beer cock is larger
to say that you have experience in drinking beer out of a green bottle and it tastes "more skunked" than one out of abrown bottle is a joke because id lay all my internet currency on the line that you have not had the same beer with the same amount of light exposure out of each differnet type of bottle

problem solved...ill wrap my bottles in fuckin duct tape
regardless if the bottles were brown, green, clear, or camo the toppers along with how big the bottles are is clutch

If you are drinking beer from a green bottle, buy it in a box, put the box in the fridge, and don't take the beer out until you are going to drink it = problem solved

Experience, you can taste the skunk

this is a pointless struggle of who's beer cock is larger
to say that you have experience in drinking beer out of a green bottle and it tastes "more skunked" than one out of abrown bottle is a joke because id lay all my internet currency on the line that you have not had the same beer with the same amount of light exposure out of each differnet type of bottle

problem solved...ill wrap my bottles in fuckin duct tape
regardless if the bottles were brown, green, clear, or camo the toppers along with how big the bottles are is clutch

and your experience tells you otherwise?

i think its a joke that you would not make a fair comparison
to make the assumption that all beer out of green bottles tastes skunked shows ignorance

its blatently obvious that some beers are harder to keep than others, i just think that these beers such as stella probably shouldnt be put in green bottles because they are brewed in a way that makes them already prone to going bad or tasting skunky

but regardless what type of bottle is used, if you maintain the beverages properly it doesnt really matter what color the bottles are

and to be fair i have had the same beer that my neighbor made in both green and brown bottles

I know how color of bottles and light absorption works so why would I need to test?

i enjoy miller lite, miller high life, budweiser, and coors light

That is not beer

Also @ Adam NN using green bottles ever

riiiiight
because i fully intend to store my beer under ultravoilet light where the usage of green vs brown vs camo bottles would have an impact... no

I do not store mine out in light and I still refuse to use green. Even if your exposure is minimal why risk it

Do you refuse to use green because you have experienced the difference in green vs brown bottles or are you simply sold on the idea based off of a certain companies marketing techniques?

If you are drinking beer from a green bottle, buy it in a box, put the box in the fridge, and don't take the beer out until you are going to drink it = problem solved

pretty sure i made that observation 13 poops ago
