wolfdale 3.33 chips
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115054

will consider dropping to 3.0 or 3.16 if there is a valid reason ofc
mainly have no idea on motherboard selection, want ddr3 slots, would i need 2 x pci express 2.0 slots? would probably go with 2 cards in the long run for kicks. ati preferably. iso all to fit in a mid tower.

probably no more than 1500 too.

Unless your current CPU is shit, just wait for quads to become cheaper. You'll have to re update anyway

I would go for the e8500 or e8400 (i just got this) due to you can overclock them to 4ghz easily and save some $$
Personally I would go with getting a similar motherboard to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...128358&Tpk=UD3P
running a GTX 285 vid card and waiting on getting ddr3 and sli due to the fact this card ran in sli needs a 24"+ moniter to take advantage of it really and unless you get an i7 you will have to change out motherboards when you do upgrade.

So IMO I would go with something like this

cpu = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115036
mobo = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...128358&Tpk=UD3P
ram 8xgb = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231194
fan if ocing = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...k=Dark%20knight
vid 285 here or find you a 295(newegg is sold out of em) = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130446
hdd = couple of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136074 or you can go for a velociraptor

something along those lines and when i7's drop in price and the motherboards/ram gets cheaper upgrade the cpu/motherboard/ram and another card thats what I plan on doing ;)

my only thoughts were to go for the i7s and ddr3 on the thoughts that it would be cheaper to get that now then get the cheaper ones and upgrade later
but will map this out, t4t suggestions
