I dont use plastic so technically that cannot happen to me. However I have had air lock blow off of my carboys and one time it sat for a night. You should be fine granted it did not get infected, you just lost a little beer.

Yeah thats the part that worries me. Considering everything is suppose to be kept steril I have no idea what kinda stuff lives in my closet (other than midgets.)

Regardless, I am just carrying through with the brew like nothing happend. I figured worse case senario if it did get infected at least I got the whole experience by me and will know what to and not to do for the next batch.
