i tried that on my first xbox that RROD'd

all it does is make the xbox work for like 6 hours at a time, then freeze, then you get RROD again. Now that i'm on my third xbox 360 to RROD, i just know better by now. send it in, get the new one, game on

its not a software issue

its because they are built so shitty that when they get too hot, it fucks shit up hardcore due to improper cooling. so if you play it too much (me) youll have that happen, and then it will no longer work.
