need some help activating my windows xp pro... i reformatted and I'm guessing someone already activated the key when I clearly have the disc and everything... I know that there is a program that gives you an ID key when you "call" microsoft. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what it is or where I can get it safely.

I need help. I gave my friend my windows disc to reformat his computer thinking he had his on key. I know that there is a program that you can get an ID number when you call them. All what I need is that then I don't have to worry about my OS not being activated.

just reinstall it, do the registration by phone or w/e and call up MS and tell them you had to reformat and the key doesnt work, they will give you a new one.

never mind... i tried to install my sounddrivers but the piece of shit wouldnt find the sound chipset or w/e... diso new comp PLIZ
