Like, I have a fairly solid understanding of addition times for hops and why they are put in at different boil times, but what is the dealwith adding DME and liquid extracts at different times? Same principle of aroma vs bitterness?

No it has to do with color

So let's say one would accidently toss 6lbs of dark liquid extract in at 60 instead of 15, the result would be darker than anticipated?

Than the recipe would suggest you should get yes. Same with light liquid extract. You could be shooting for a blonde but get a color closer to a brown if you add all lme at once.

Yea I figured that.
Good luck...I dropped entirely too much money into my lagering unit/4 tap draft system. After the wedding and after I buy my bass boat I intend to start gathering the equiptment for all grain.

My hops are finally taking off. Brewers gold are about a foot tall and the cascade broke ground over the weekend. They are running a little late but I got high hopes for them next year. I am still fumbling with different ideas for what I can build for them to climb. I currently have a few feet of lattice but it's not high enough.
