Dogfish head...

Have you ever tried the worldwide stout? Also, the seasonal rarity (rarity for me at least) is finally upon us. My year long lust for Theobroma can finally be satisfied soon.

If I wasn't marrying the beast I would have moved to Boulder, Colorado. Arguably the largest microbrew city of the US (even though PA has more totally as a state) lots of hunting/fishing and hundreds of miles to swing my axe in the mountains.

No I have not, but I plan on locating some of each.

I really want to try Hebrew's Jubilation (stout). Their lager is being carried by the local ABC Liquor but they didn't have the stout yet.

its the way oregon has things set up, most beer is sold in supermarkets, so best friend stores have best friend crafts, usually all the main ones, new belgium, mctarnahans, rogue valley etc etc, but not their specialty brews. liquer stores sell the hard shit, and generally miller light/bud light/coors light etc.

guess i should use google/the phone book lol, but i do know i would have to drive an hour for said specialty brews :(

Wells discount liquor in Baltimore has worldwide stout but at $10 a 12oz bottle

Sucks m8s, I got a few pretty good places close. Two within 5 mins and another within 15 mins. The best place however I have seen is Jungle Jims in Cinci. Easily 200 varieties, oh and the Party Source in northern Kentucky has a hundred or so beers.

Worldwide stout is 18%... it would be the highest abv beer I ever had. I bet it's a barley orgy in your mouth. Their chicory stout is nb.

Isn't it considered more of a barely wine at that %?

It would be considered an Imperial Stout imo

Barleywine is typically made with less of the burnt or charred grains and has more fruit character than stout.

If you really want to break it down a brewer could make just about anything and call it whatever they want as long as it fits the generally accepted style in color and taste. Appalachian brewing company for example has a barleywine that is extremely stout-like in both color and taste

I didn't think Imperials counted that high, good to know.
